NASCAR in South Jersey?
One particular question has been on most people's minds since plans for a racetrack in South Jersey were first being laid out: Is NASCAR coming? Offering the most popular form of auto racing in the country and boasting the most recognizable names, cars and teams, a NASCAR event certainly would be a prized possession for any circuit. And the New Jersey Motorsports Park is no different. "It is our intention to invite NASCAR to visit our facility," said Don Fauerbach, an official at the Millville park. "And it's our intention to invite them to see if they're interested in having any of their series visit our facilities." NASCAR operates three national series -- the Sprint Cup, the Nationwide Series and the Craftsman Truck Series -- in addition to four regional series and two international series. According to NASCAR, one of those regional series, the Camping World Series, appears to be the most likely fit for the park.

It's not a 1.5 mile oval, so bring it on.
NJMP is actually road courses. Might make a good replacement for Mexico City, if nothing else.

This is another example of Nascar going where people are, not neccessarily where the fans are. There is a difference.

What are you talking about???There are a TON of Nascar fans up here in Jersey.Myself included.Granted we likely will never get a Sprint cup race here in NJ but even if its trucks or nationwide. If it saves me 2 and a half 3 hours to get to pocono or 3 and a half 4 hours to Dover im all for it.

The track just isn't a big enough facility to get NASCAR's consideration.

I can see it now - hair gel, Jagerbombs, and Jersey Fist Pumps while the NASCAR drivers race to sweet techno beats.

If it is in Jersey, will they have to drive Cadillacs and Lincoln Town Cars? Will they have fireproof Armani suits? During pit stops will loading a body in the trunk be part of the mandatory items you must accomplish? T-shirts will be replaced with stained wife beaters with your favorite drivers # written in Marinara sauce. No more hot dogs at the vendors......Manicotti, Mushrooms Louis and a 58' Chardonay, maybe a Fresh Pretzel and a jug O' Faygo for the kids.

With the exception of the Preacher of Hate's comments (which are very funny), you have to come up with some updated stereotypes of New Jersey. The mafia references are as old as your underwear!! You can say something about toxic wastelands. Go watch Californication and make fun of the newest sex addict, David Duchovny
