Angry Altidore to stay with Villarreal

Jozy Altidore will be staying with Villarreal for at least the first half of the upcoming La Liga season. The U.S. national team striker and former Red Bulls standout revealed that he will not be going to another Spanish club on loan, which had long been expected, and will stay with Villarreal as the club deals with a rash of injuries at th forward position. Perhaps even more stunning than that development is Altidore's revelation that he was not injured during the Olympics and simply didn't see more playing time because coach Peter Nowak decided not to use him more.

This article needs to state that he is mad at Nowak and not Villareal. Its a little misleading.

Yeah Hova. At first glance, I got worried. Riquelme was mad with Villareal and he got benched and shipped out.

The injuries to Nihat and Rossi has opened the door for him. There's still rumors of him being loaned out to Valladolid. He might get playing time but won't be starting. He'll be behind Guille Franco and former-Valladolid striker Llorente. But Villareal could use his physical play while Nihat is out.

Yeah Big Chaco. I think he will get some time just to keep him going and active. It would be a shame if they leave him inactive.

It's very rare for a club to move a foreign player on loan immediately afet arriving from overseas. They will get him some playing time in meaningless games then loan him out in January.

This is sure to hamper his development.

The US sure could have used some offense in the Olympics, too. :( What a poor choice.

Villareal is known to for immediately loaning out players before they buy. Another thing teams keep in mind is the non-EU slot.

I think he went to too big a club too soon

A move to Holland ore Portugal would have fit him better, get more used to the euro game, eventhough every country has their own twist to the style

He wont play, go on loan

Unless everyone gets injured

The US coaches are morons!!! For some reason they keep thinking the likes of Mcbride and the old senior citizens are going to make us a top notch soccer team. Get over them already and start giving the up and coming stars some playing time.....

He made the bench today, if anyone cares.

kenny81- BB has given MANY youngsters a chance to play....

but seriously, even though the CONCACAF teams are weak in comparison to most, the US needs the experience of players such as Beasley, Lewis, etc.. in order to survive these slug matches....

while i agree Jozy should've played in the olympics, the US did have a great chance at moving on.... only needing a tie (or a loss by the Dutch) in the last game to move on.... we scored 4 goals in 3 games... our offense may not have been the best, but we did score a decent amount... just a series of bad plays, like THE WALL JUMPING ON THE FREE KICK >:(

Nihat... an amazing player who's startlingly underrated...

It's not Bradley that needs removing it's that Nowak character. He's the one responsible for the debacle in China, not to mention doing his full-time best to wreck the promise that Freddy Adu once had (hopefully, he'll get it back). Keep Nowak away from anybody relating to the USMNT.
