Big-name Giants face cuts
With at least 22 cuts due by 6p.m., Tom Coughlin has some agonizing decisions to make to get the Giants' roster down to the 53-man limit. And the toughest calls will be on several reliable veterans, such as cornerbacks R.W. McQuarters and Sam Madison and running back Reuben Droughns. He will also have to make a tough call on receiver Sinorice Moss and backup quarterback Anthony Wright, along with a few other remnants from his championship team.

A lot of these guys are gone. With Strahan retired, Osi out, and Shockey traded, the team is looking at reloading. They need cap room.

They have somewhere between $9 and $12 mil. in cap space. Not the issue.
Moss will stick, he is starting to get it. They are loaded at the WR position and will not let them go. Brandon Loyd will be the odd man out at the spot. Burress, Toomer, Smith, Moss, Manningham, Dixon will all stick at WR.
Droghns will be let go and picked up immediately by someone.
Madison will go. Having to make tough choices on decent players means you are doing something right. Not a bad thing.

wright's a solid backup. someone should sign him. McQuarters and Madison will find some level of work in the NFL with another team too. Not sure about Droughns, could be the end.

Droughns will def. be picked up if he is cut in favor of Danny Ware. Time to let Sammy go. Reload? London is taking Tyree's spot for now.
Reload? This is one of the youngest teams in the NFL

sacked92 ..You are right. They were the third youngest team in the NFL last year....I do not see London sticking for special teams. They are short on LBs. If any of them stick, it may be McQuarters for the special team reason. He is the punt returner..

Ware and Droughns are both gone. London is gone after his horrid game against the Pats where Moss clearly showed he was ready to increase his role in the offense.
Carr played well in that game and may get the nod over Wright although he has looked a tad better, but this is because of the extra year of learning the offense, not having more talent than Carr.
50year was right of the receivers who stay. Madison stays, Mcquarters is gone. We do not have anough corners to cut both (Webster, Ross, Thomas, Dockery, Madison....)

Ware will stay...he is this years Ryan Grant...He looks too good to let go. He even picked up a blitzer Thursday...Coughlin likes him. Why not.

Ware has shown he has enough potential for droughns to be the unfortunate "odd man out "... he will be picked up immediately.
Moss, has once again, shown just enough to merrit sticking around for one more year/try.
Mcquarters has made BIG plays at critical times, and madison still has gas in his tank.
Wright is the only one out of this group that I wouldn't give a second thought to jettisoning.

oBama oSama ..I agree on Wright. But that kidQB from Kentucky was AWFUL. He deserves to be cut. And you need a third QB every game.
Madison and Droghns and some others. A tough business, but you can only keep 53 and 5 developmental taxi squad players. They may have to keep two kickers until Tynes can play. And Huston is the worst kicker I have ever seen at the pro level.. 6 pm tonight the lists will come out. Will be interesting..

i certainly agree with that statement. Agonizing over who to cut rather than who to keep is a good situation.

If the Giants go into this season with houston as their kicker (for ANY reason ) I believe court ordered psychiatric examinations of the giants management are in order.
Lets be real about this , the problem they are pondering is.. tynes is signed to a good size contract for a kicker, and they will have a problem signing a good kicker for only a few games , but what is the price for loseing a close game to the skins because we missed an extra point ?
Put tynes on the pup and pay whatever you have to to get someone thats at least capable of making an extra point ! There's no garantee that tynes will be great coming of an injury anyway, if the kicker they sign is hot, stay with him, if not ,go back to tynes... like you said ,,,tough business

50 yr , I want to add, I am still upset that the giants wasted a draft pick to swap one kentucky QB for another, that wasn't even as good as the one we had,
lorensen never got a legitimate shot to show what he could do in a game with all the one's around him...maybe thats a good thing I suppose.
So far, thats 2 bad picks in this years draft , and the jurys still out on goff and manningham.

Manningham sure looked good against my Pats this past Thursday night. Wait, they all did come to think of it. :(

Everyone but McQuarters is going to be cut from that list.
I always liked Sinorice Moss, and I know a team that could use a little speed at the WR position.

oBama oSama ..Agree totally about Woodson. Never made any sense. The good news is Carr looked very good. Know they only have him for one year though.
Manningham will be the best player out of this draft for them..And that includes Phillips.....My opinion.. He could be special..

Nobody expects too much from Mario, but he can have a really good break out season.
Isn't Sinorice Santana's brother? Maybe the Bengals can pick him up.

Welcome back Hank. I'm a big Denver Broncos fan. Got burnt in ''keepers' FFL when I chose a Denver RB... They do well in Denver, and Shanahan drops them after a year. Then they don't do so well.
As goes for the G-Men, if they drop Sinorice Moss, that might be a good catch for Dallas.
