Notre Dame's Weis watching, waiting

Armed with a remote control, rather then a play sheet, Notre Dame head football coach Charlie Weis spent Saturday being a college football gaper instead of standing on the stage. "It was interesting, because six of our opponents were on TV (Saturday)," Weis said during a press conference Sunday. That included San Diego State, a 29-27 loser at home to California State Polytechnic University-San Luis Obispo.

They left out "eating."

and making the local food delivery drivers very busy and very happy.

Lol, oh my so funny. How original fat jokes. Third graders intelligence...Why not mention poop while your at it.

Remote control in one hand, a Big Mac with Cheese in the other, and poop in his pants.

Acutally, I didn't think somebody would say it but funny is funny. I think Charlie won't being the only one crapping himself after they have a great year.

I like following the ND program but with all the great games on this weekend I think FN could have come up with something better to talk about than how Charlie spent his weekend. It just invites all the trite and sophomoric comments from the fraternity boys (see above) who have too much time on their hands this Labor Day.

This one made my laugh until I cried

He better have a respectable season.....or they will regret that long contract extension.

Just wondering if Clausen is regretting going to Notre Dame. USC recruited him heavily but he went to Notre Dame because he had a better chance of starting. He saw that Booty was starting and Sanchez in the wing and with Quinn graduating, that was his best chance to play. He didnt want the competition. He took the easy way out. I say, if you believe in your skills, dont be afraid of any competition. I live 5 mins from his high school and he was the talk of the town!!

September 1, 2008  01:44 PM ET

I am confident....he will never enjoy a victory over USC in his career in at Notre Dame.

September 1, 2008  01:53 PM ET

LA Boy...there a lot of reasons other than football to make the decsion to attend Notre Dame and if you saw the pounding he took last year with no offensive line I doubt seriously you would question his "heart." If I were you I would be a lot more worried about what you are facing on September 13th than November 29th!

September 1, 2008  01:58 PM ET

San Diego State lost to who?

Damn.

Nothing wrong with Charlie watching the competition. That's what you are supposed to do.

September 1, 2008  02:00 PM ET

I think this is the only picture of Weis that donen't look like he's yelling or any other coach for that matter.

How about this one then? With a BIF like that, he hasn't seen his johnson since the 70's.

Gariboy, hockey fans know nothing about College Football, or johnsons or balls since they showed none in there lose to HockeyTown.

September 1, 2008  02:18 PM ET

As I said I like good jokes that are original and funny, that was just lame. 1970 called and said they want their joke back. La Boy rivalries tend to follow trends. With one team winning for awhile and then the other team dominates. I do see Clausen winning against USC sometime in the future.

September 1, 2008  02:26 PM ET

ND fans, what do you think about Cierra Wood coming ND? I think he might see significant playing time next year.

September 1, 2008  02:40 PM ET

OK, let's predict next week:

1) Notre Lame beats San Diego State JC by a decent margin on Saturday
2) Notre Lame vaulted into the AP top 25 on Sunday

When do they play a real game?

September 1, 2008  03:33 PM ET

Ridiculously easy schedule + Media's everlasting hope for ND to be a top team again = A complete **** kissing fest this season for Weis after they "rebound" with 8 or 9 wins. Can't wait.
