As he prepares for his third season as the president for hockey operations for the St. Louis Blues, John Davidson wouldn't mind replaying the second half of last season. The Blues started the season well but lost 23 of their last 33 games.

What does the headline have to do with the second half of last season?

September 1, 2008  12:06 PM ET

yeaaaaaaa.......

September 1, 2008  12:27 PM ET

And hands them a giant cookie in hoping that it makes them feel better.

September 1, 2008  12:40 PM ET

I guess like, soo many years in the past, they were really ''singing the Blues" !!!

September 1, 2008  01:36 PM ET

wth, this is EASILY the dumbest thing i have read.

i could easily have written this for any gm of the NHL even the red wings when they went on their 7 game losing streak.

There's John Davidson, holding the Blues' most cherished trophy.

Isn't the "Brett Hull Way" sulking when asked to back-check and publicly challenge coaches and officiating?

September 1, 2008  05:44 PM ET

It should be Brett Hull* way

*-foot was in the crease

September 1, 2008  07:28 PM ET

Davidson could be charged with tampering since Brett Hull works for Dallas.

September 1, 2008  07:42 PM ET

The story doesn't match the headline. And neither of those match the photo. Oh well.

Reaches out to fans by holding up a Brett Hull sign? How about reaching out to fans by giving them something to cheer for? Like a good team?

September 2, 2008  08:44 AM ET

Davidson is on his way to making the Blues a good team.....there's a lot of young talent there, and he has two goaltenders this year, so Legace won't be burnt out by February.

I expect this team to make a serious playoff challenge this year.

I agree, the Blues are a much improved team. Davidson is doing things the right way. But, they still have a ways to go to be a playoff team.

September 2, 2008  09:50 AM ET

Davidson reaches out to Blues fans...and slaps them. Now THAT'S a story!

September 2, 2008  10:04 AM ET

Maybe, Dcruiser, because the West is loaded, but I think the Blues will challenge this year for a PO spot...

The Blues seem to be heading in the right direction. It'll take them some time but I thonk in the next year or two they could be a playoff team.
