Palmetto's Jaamal Berry, the top-ranked running back according to ESPN, says he committed to Ohio State on Sunday after an unofficial visit to Columbus, Ohio. Berry chose the Buckeyes over LSU, Ole Miss, Florida, Florida State, Michigan and others, but he said his comfort level in Columbus, Ohio, set the Buckeyes apart from the rest.

Another top recruit going to the best college football program in the country!

September 2, 2008  06:29 AM ET

This just in... As soon as he picked OSU, ESPN dropped him to the #20 RB, and his 40 time went from 4.31 to 4.81 haha
Congrats to you, Jamaal! You will have a great career at Ohio State behind that wall of Shugarts, Adams, Brewster and Cory, getting the ball from Pryor!!
Good Luck on your career and this is to "no injuries'!!

Berry has been a non verbal commit to OSU for a LONG time. What will be interesting to watch is if Berry takes a visit to Florida. Do you think that Urban Cryer is going to let Berry go with out a fight? Don't think so.

This was pretty much between UF and OSU. All the other schools were just filler schools for Berry where he didn't have much interest, from what I have heard.

Though this is good news, I am sure most OSU fans would trade it for a healthy wells now...

Greatest program in the country? Maybe the Big 10 but not the country. Get off your parents computer.

September 2, 2008  08:53 AM ET

Good back. Can't hate OSU for getting him.

They mix the kool-aid strong in columbus.

1 part water,
1 part sweater vest,
2 parts national championship losses,
1 part "clarett" championship.

4vr,

You have 1 national championship since 1970. Have fun in LA.

September 2, 2008  09:37 AM ET

OSU? Greatest Tradition?

Notre Dame? Michigan?

September 2, 2008  09:38 AM ET

Easy on the best program in the nation talk. You dont get blown out in back to back BCS bowl games then announce your the best program in the nation. Doesnt work that way.

September 2, 2008  09:38 AM ET

I am very happy we got another recruit. But nobody will know how th ekid turns out til he starts. So I will be keeping my eye out for him. And Kingfootball we will have fun in LA. It will be a great game no matter who wins.

If you count the championships of Michigan in the '30's you don't even have the greatest tradition in the Big 10.

September 2, 2008  09:40 AM ET

OSU does have great tradition. The greatest? Not so sure about that. But I love the tradition of Ohio State.

NO.... they realize that Ohio st has one of the weekest confrences and they will get a bunch of times to shine playing against north western

September 2, 2008  09:43 AM ET

From your spelling I see you are a native Texan. I know there isn't someone from the Big 12 talking about conference strength. Aggies, Baylor, Iowa State ring a bell?

Does this mean that Beanie Wells is out for good now, is that why this kid wants in all of a sudden...coincidence....
