Brady expects to play opener

Tom Brady ran through agility drills and said he's ready to play in the New England Patriots' opener. Bill Belichick isn't ready to say that will happen. Neither is much of a surprise. It would be a big surprise if the record-setting quarterback, who had a right foot injury and missed all four exhibition games, doesn't start Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. "If it's up to me, there's no question" Brady said Monday. "I've been getting progressively better over the past couple of weeks. I'm excited. I'm excited to start the year." The secretive Belichick deflected a question about whether last season's NFL MVP would start Sunday.

He' soft. Lost the biggest game - ever. Stamp that on his frigginn fore-head. Just another boy living because of his celebrity. They lost and they looked really stupid in the process. Remember that boy Moss spreading his arms with some 4 minutes left in the game.....man that must have hurt his mamma. Chumps who could not be Champs.

Okay....I can't stop. Move past that.....say what? You never will move past that. You lost the last game of the year....dig it. The be just like the Dolphins and the rest of the league.....but they LOOKED STUPID.....in the end.

Unexpected injury? As opposed to the expected ones?

September 2, 2008  07:28 AM ET

He may start, but his lack of practice should keep this game relatively close. I predict 43-12.

yada yada......come clean and dont screw up my parlay Mr Washed Up.

I think with three rings on his hand, no matter what your pathetic opinion of him rings very hollow. Who is your team again?

September 2, 2008  08:01 AM ET

Washed up Jackman? I think a lot of teams would kill for a washed QB like him.

I know, wishful thinking. But what if - its just possible - it could be - there is an undertone to these "injuries"?

September 2, 2008  08:05 AM ET

The moron's been on the Patriots "probable" portion of an injury list since, like, the Truman administration. We're supposed to care about a news story about it now? Please.

18-1, for those whose memories haven't failed them.

Bond 00000, You must have lost alot of money betting on the Superbowl, cuz YOU cant get over it! You come to every Pats thread with your soft in the haed comments. It gets old fast.

lol. good call. think i need to start brady in my fantasy league.

September 2, 2008  08:33 AM ET

I think this will be a season where the patriots will have a season like the '06' colts they will win their games, but a lot games will be close. We'll just have to stay tuned to see if they'll have a post season like the '06' colts.

September 2, 2008  08:40 AM ET

Brady's a MO.

September 2, 2008  08:47 AM ET

Good news for Patriots fans.

September 2, 2008  08:56 AM ET

Of course he is ready, its not a preseason game. There was nothing wrong with him.

Envy is such a sad emotion. It's a shame the Pats can't be as great as your team. I don't understand how such a boy ever became a celebrity in the first place...

oh wait... maybe it was the 3 Superbowls he did win before that loss. Or all the TD records and the undefeated 16-0 season.

Nah... I'm sure you have a team and a QB that makes those accomplishments seem mediocre

How long will it take before their success stops making you so miserable in the morning?

September 2, 2008  09:16 AM ET

He will play and with KC's defense.. he can stand still and throw to his targets. He may not play the entire game once they are up 30.

September 2, 2008  09:18 AM ET

Look at Hooah05 the cowboy fan defending a Pat......

Brady just feels he does not need to practise anymore....

September 2, 2008  09:19 AM ET

Somehow Roger Clemens is at fault. I just haven't figured out how yet.
