Jaguars have interest in Culpepper

Jaguars officials are being tight lipped about their interest in Dolphins quarterback Daunte Culpepper. But they recently called backup quarterback David Garrard into their offices to explain that any interest the team might have in Culpepper is not a reflection of what they think of Garrard's abilities. The fact that the team admitted as much to Garrard is telling. Though others have shown interest in Culpepper, nobody has shown as much as the Jaguars, and it's understandable.

Didn't they have three black QBs on the depth chart last year (Leftwich, Garrard and Gray)? You're a year late on that scoop, man...

open mouth and insert foot!!!!! lol
I think it would be a good move for Culpepper and the Jags, they have time to let him fully rehab and give Byron more rope to hang himself, or save his carrer ( as a backup )

They were the first team with three black QBs three years ago.

Culpepper is almost done. One good year by leftwich and he would never be on the field for the Jags. IF LEMON takes your job, you got a lot to be worried about.

Culpepper is close to hanging up the cleats... he isn't better than what the jags already have...

Mike Tice loves Daunte so muchm, this move wouldnt suprise me in the least. When the Jags such again next year Tice will get that job and Daunte will be the starter.

Daunte's situation reminds me of that of Terrell Davis (and Robert Edwards for that matter)...althought neither of those players ever made it back, I really hope Daunte does because I am a huge fan. I think he can do it, but the more time off he gets the better for him...he shouldnt rush into it with the way he hurt his knee...the only athlete i've seen hurt his knee in a more gruesome fashion was Shaun Livingston of the Clippers.

Leftwich-Garrard-Culpepper ? If 2 of 3 of those makes up the core of the QB roster for the Jags, there's no way this team wins 8 games.

This would sort of be a risky move considering he is coming off of his knee surgery. For a mobile quarterback such as Daunte, he is going to be using that knee a lot.But if he comes back strong, I wouldnt be surprised if this move did happen.Garrard is not a bad back up either so i wouldnt cut Garrard, but try and keep all three.
