Roush Fenway Racing is taking delivery of the much-coveted UPS sponsorship. UPS has reached a multiyear agreement with Roush to sponsor the team's No. 6 Ford driven by David Ragan beginning with the 2009 season, The Charlotte Observer and ThatsRacin.com have learned. A formal announcement of the move is expected within the next two weeks, sources said Sunday. UPS also considered sponsoring a car with Stewart-Hass Racing and briefly considered sponsoring NASCAR's Truck series, NASCAR officials had previously acknowledged.

Well that's good. Now I can start using UPS again since I won't see their sponsorship money go to a foriegn competitor.

Now if we could get NAPA and Home Depot to a North American car rather than a so called Japanese car made here with the profits going to Japan.
I can start going to those places as well. I really thought Home Depoty would have gone with Stewart and back to Chev. Guess they like Japanese cars

I also am so glad they went with a American car!!

What a bunch of weirdo's we have around here today

September 2, 2008  09:13 AM ET

Good for Ragen, good for UPS.

September 2, 2008  09:21 AM ET

Tough decision; Do we go with Roush, who is on the top of their game or go with Stewart-Hass, who is just starting up.

September 2, 2008  09:29 AM ET

JK, I think Stewart at this point is a gamble one that UPS won't take.
I do think Stewart will do well.

Good for David Ragan...finally, an up and comer getting good money behind him...he'll make the Chase next week in Richmond!

September 2, 2008  09:37 AM ET

At least UPS will be on a competitive car. David Ragan has alot of talent.

September 2, 2008  09:50 AM ET

Agreed RCR, Ragan is a good driver and will do UPS some justice. At least they aren't on that scrub Reutimans car anymore....they had enough driving in the rear with DJ.

September 2, 2008  09:58 AM ET

Not to change the subject too much, but I am looking for a potential driver change myself and was wondering if you all though David Ragan would be a good choice? I am trying not to be a fair-weather fan, but I am growing tired of Jr's lack of performance. I will give him unitl the end of the year, but if things do not improve I am going to need a new driver.

Suggestions.... thoughts..... I am looking for someone as aggressive as Busch, but with a personality that doesn't make me want to punch him.

September 2, 2008  10:01 AM ET

Hahaha, a Jr. fan jumpin ship!!! That rules!!!

September 2, 2008  10:10 AM ET

I know....fortunately my house doesn't look like a shrine to the man.

I haven't jumped yet though....

September 2, 2008  10:12 AM ET

I have always been forethcoming about my thoughts on Jr, so why stop now. I never put him on a pedestal, but always wanted him to succeed.

September 2, 2008  10:13 AM ET

Somebody here predicted this a while ago. UPS wanted a young up and coming driver and it would probably be Ragan. Well done, whoever it was.

September 2, 2008  10:13 AM ET

Marbles, I have a TON of Jr. collectibles if you know anyone that may be interested. LOL! I jumped when he sold out to Hendrick.

September 2, 2008  10:32 AM ET

A true fan sticks with their driver even if he doesn't win or jumped ship!! GTE, I can't believe any real Jr. fan would think he should stay with TEI!

Ship any Jr. collectibles my way, I will stay his fan till he retires cause that is what a true fan does.

September 2, 2008  10:36 AM ET

That is why I favor rooting for a team, Burton and Harvick are really who I root for and if Bowyer does well that is good too. I hope he doesn't get the 4th team running, he needs to concentrate on what he has.

September 2, 2008  10:47 AM ET

If Jr. wasn't so money oriented he would have gone to childress like his daddy did.

September 2, 2008  10:47 AM ET

RCR and they are a great group to root for...
I'm glad Ragan will have a good sponser next year. I think that kid will do well!!!
By the way, I was a Dale Sr. fan and when he got killed I took his son.. I do realize he will proabably never be the driver his Dad was but by cheering for him I feel I am in some one still supported Dale!!!
