Ortiz confirms UFC negotiations

Tito Ortiz was a guest on HDNet's Inside MMA lastnight and let the world know that there is a chance, albeit a small one, that he could possibly return to the UFC's Octagon. "EliteXC - possibility. Affliction - possibility. UFC - a small chance of that happening," Ortiz told the panel "The things between me and Dana White, I'm shoving it off and moving on with my life." It is no secret that Ortiz and White have had some big time problems in the past but money talks so who's to say the UFC will pay Tito what he is looking for. The thing about Ortiz though, is that he has high marketability and is one of the biggest draws in MMA history so he could be worth the money being paid out. Nowadays thought, the UFC doesn't need Tito as much as Tito needs them.

Just fade away tito

Considering that CBS is looking into dumping EXC in favor of UFC, which would be the nail in that coffin, and Affliction promises to do no better, Tito's best chance at getting paid ANYTHING is UFC....That's why Randy Couture is also thinking of going back to UFC.

Has your girl Jenna shat out the antichrist yet?

How is he not hit 200 times in the head per fight? I mean how does anyone miss?

The UFC does not need Tito. Tito need the UFC much more than the UFC needs Tito.

September 2, 2008  11:08 AM ET

I think he is starting to realize that and thats why he is saying he would consider going back to the UFC!!!

Inside MMA was on almost a week ago

Yeah, and they posted this same story last week.

He's been using Jenna to teach him how to take blow after blow and still be able to perform.

While I agree Tito is past his prime he still could be a very big draw for some undercards and UFC fight nights better than watching all these TUF allumni that suck! Or make him a heavy wieght and let Brock beat the **** out of him. Better yet let Tito vs Dan Henderson you could hype it as the clash of the Hasbeens

I endorse this post. Although, judging from the size of Tito's enormous John Merrick-like skull, I would say it would take a person of Jenna's "high mileage" to successfully heave out this child.

At one time Tito was the biggest thing in MMA, now he's just a name. Lyoto made him look pretty pedestrian, of course Lyoto is one of the tops in light-heavyweight, but still, he should just retire, start his own clothing line or training gym, and just be a legend. There are enough great fighters now that he's just not as important.

September 2, 2008  04:59 PM ET

Heh, why not?

I hate when washed up fighters just won't figure out it's time to quit!

You're telling me that guy's noggin is the size of a hot air balloon and he's not on roids...that's incredible!

tito doesnt have a choice but to sign with ufc. no one else has any money to throw at him.affliction is all but done after their next card and elite xc is right behind them.where else can tito go,nowhere.if he has any drawing potential left its just so people can watch him get drilled by better opponents.i dont think he can hang with anyone of any relevance. just him coming back is funny though, after all that mouth he comes right back where he didnt wanna be. just goes to show how much of a sellout the guy really is, no pride anymore, just a paycheck mentallity. hope he gets a lot of cash cause he isnt gonna bring alot of fight .wonder who gets to drill him first?

Translation of Tito's comments: "Nobody else will pay me anything to fight so I'll crawl back to Dana White."
