Brady still plans to play Sunday

Seven months after Super Bowl XLII, we're right back where we started: We're asking Tom Brady questions about his foot. The Patriots quarterback yesterday sounded like he plans on playing in Sunday's season opener against the Chiefs at Gillette Stadium, but he wouldn't guarantee it. "If it's up to me, there's no question," he said. "But those questions aren't always up to me. I've been getting progressively better over the last couple of weeks. I'm excited, excited to start the year."

No shock here.. he will play and rip up the Chiefs..

Dont know drj......based on the story and the repetitiveness....maybe there is something going on here. As someone stated yesterday his remarkable ascent in arm strength could be attributed to use of steriods. This in turn has broken down his immune system and normal flow of blood to extremities. Thus problems with his ankle area. (or maybe not)

the man is tom brady. of course he's gonna play.

September 3, 2008  08:07 AM ET

Um isn't this a carbon copy more or less from yesterdays Brady story?

September 3, 2008  08:18 AM ET

Bogus story,,,,Brady is not hurt (other than his ego) and the Pat's love
to led you to believe he is. His pocket may hurt after dropping 10
million on some dirt in LA as he's going to build a crib so he can be
close to his son (which I give him credit for that).

Didn;t we just have this story 3 stories ago?

September 3, 2008  08:27 AM ET

Just how long has Fannation been holding onto that picture of Smiling Tom and why haven't we seen many times before? What a great smile! =-]

September 3, 2008  08:29 AM ET

I thought he was out for the season - why isn't he on IR?

September 3, 2008  08:32 AM ET

Fools. Of course he is going to play. NE does unnatural and unholy stuff to get Brady ready. I think that they want to win....

September 3, 2008  08:38 AM ET

NE could play Cassell and beat Kansas City...I don't expect him to play.

September 3, 2008  08:41 AM ET

CowboyDave | 09/03/08,

or a will he or wont he thread about Strahan.

September 3, 2008  09:10 AM ET

You didn't just compare a day or two worth of Strahan topics to over a month of Favremania.

September 3, 2008  09:12 AM ET

Hey KP

I agree they should have cut Cassell and keep Guiterrez; this one is a head scratchier. Guiterrez play better in pre season than Cassell. Maybe there going to bring in a vet QB to back up Brady. But, Brady will play and this story will go away with no question. Let the Season Begin
