Considering that he has fielded offers from other teams and is not only deciding on whether to retire or play for the franchise he's always played for...no, he's not. What he's doing does not qualify as a "grace period."

Why...because the Canadian Hockey player has a completely different mentality to the sport of Hockey than any other Nationality.
In other news...the McCabe deal if final and he is a Panther and Van Ryn is a Leaf. The Leafs save 2 million per seasnon and gave up a 4th rounder in 2010.

I'm just as tired of the Sundin saga as the next person here but I'd still take him on my team should he decide he wanted to play again. Canuck or not.

Sakic has shown nothing but class through out his grace period. Sundin on the other hand just seems to be playing everyone along till he feels like making a decision. There is no comparison between the two.

4-1? Please. You want a bet, you got it. Stastny will get a hat trick, and Salei and Foote will make Boston's forwards cry like Todd Bertuzzi did in his "apology" press conference.

Salei and Foote? Who and who? They'll both be a combined -8 at the end of the game. Chara will give Stastny his first career concussion. He will literally be writhing on the ice crying like a little girl. Chara will be standing over him laughing hysterically while drool falls on Stastny's face.
