Several 2010 prospects already had verbal scholarship offers from Michigan State, and now they will be able to get those offers in writing. And some of the top prospects the Spartans are focused on are in the Detroit area. The Spartans reportedly have offered five in-state prospects for the class of 2010. Four are from the Detroit area: running back Austin White from Livonia Stevenson, quarterback Devin Gardner of Inkster, quarterback Robert Bolden from Orchard Lake Saint Mary's and tight end/defensive end William Gholston of Detroit Southeastern.

You mean people actually live in Detroit?

I think FanNation had this same "story" two or three months ago!

Keep up the good work T&R!

This is definitely a re-hash however I have read comparisons of Gardner to Vince Young.

Not so sure I want to see someone so talented going to State, but that would be the Wolverine fan in me.

Yeah, I dont even think it was months ago, I think it was a couple weeks ago...

We were all completely shocked that MSU would recruit Detroit...

September 4, 2008  09:26 AM ET

Yeah xxx84xxx, who knew that MSU had the sense to recruit in Detroit?

Jeez...come of T&R! Can't we do a bit better?

This is in the "BFD" neck of the woods.

Thunderdragon, UM is gonna be fine, RR's first year at WVU he was like 3-9, and look in at how good they are now. Its not streetball, they are running the same offense at Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, and soon to be OSU, its all based on the spread, just different variations....

I can't believe I'm saying this xxx84xxx, you are insightful and right on the money; no wonder I am proud of my team and my conference!

Ahhh I do what I can....
I didn't think UM was as bad on Saturday as some thought, the are a good QB away from being second best in the conference again...

I look at it this way if RR could recruit his guys to Morgantown, then he willhave no problem selling UM, its only a matter of time
