Ravens have seen last of Boller

Goodbye, Kyle Boller. Baltimore has probably seen the last of him, at least in a purple uniform. The team put Boller and his throwing shoulder on injured reserve yesterday and replaced him with journeyman Todd Bouman, 36. The news wasn't surprising, especially because Boller had been telling teammates for the past couple of days that he was finished for the 2008 season. But it goes beyond that in Baltimore. This is probably the end of the most disappointing, unfulfilled career in the Ravens' short history.

He's soft. Like a girl. Like a boy named Leftwich.

September 4, 2008  06:18 AM ET

He'll be the next Joey Harrington and David Carr. Just trying to find a backup job.

The ravens suck. Once Ray Lewis leaves the ravens will set an nfl record 0-16 season haha.

September 4, 2008  06:36 AM ET

meh the ravens aren't going 0-16. ever. if last season's fins couldn't pull off that magical feat, no team ever will.

as for boller, would have to agree his chance to start is over, he is indeed headed to clip-board heaven. sitting on the bench for 16 games a year, carrying notes around, and generally being a starting qb's moral support.

I feel bad for the guy

September 4, 2008  07:22 AM ET

I don't ... if I "stole" that much money from an organization I wouldn't care what anyone felt!

September 4, 2008  09:41 AM ET

"clip-board heaven"

LoL

September 4, 2008  10:03 AM ET

Next stop: Oakland Raiders.

Scrapy again shows his ignorance to all things Ravens-related. You should listen to a non-Ravens fan that's intelligent, Mr. PW above, because the Ravens will never go 0-16 and Ray Lewis hasn't been our best player in many years now.

September 4, 2008  10:13 AM ET

Hey Scrappy, who's your team again ? Your profile is noticeably empty of any of that info.

I smell a bandwagoner...

September 4, 2008  10:15 AM ET

hey boller "stay frosty"

September 4, 2008  10:49 AM ET

Nooo! I'm much more comfortable with the perenial dud Boller under center than either Flanco or Smith. It's much easir for a bad defense like Cleveland's(they are still bad until they show otherwise, regardless of who they sign) to stop a one dimensional offense.

The worst thing is we have all seen him at his best when he's able to do great things. I don't know what in the world happened to this guy. Too bad we'll never know how good he could've been.

With the Ravens luck and our QB track record he'll go someplace else and turn out to be a stud. He's a great pickup for any team to be their backup but as far as being a consistent (key word) starter then so far it's a no-go.

September 4, 2008  01:17 PM ET

Stick a fork in him!

September 4, 2008  01:59 PM ET

Todd Bouman. Get the F out of here. How is this guy better than Culpepper. I feel Culpepper on retiring if no one will give a pro bowler a shot. Todd has done nothing in this league, and Smith is still sick, I would rather have a known stater like Culpepper than Todd Bouman! The NFL owners must have black balled Culpepper. Hell, last year a 44 year old vinnie was called to play, but this year Culpepper cant even get a return call.

September 4, 2008  02:02 PM ET

Joey Harrington will get a job, and Carr has a job. Neither has won any thing. Culpepper will enjoy watching these teams struggle when he could have atleast managed a game for a team like the Ravens who run game and defense wins most of the games any way. Todd Bouman!!!! LOL. hope the ravens dont have to see this guy play on sunday.

September 4, 2008  04:40 PM ET

from what I hear Culpepper just retired. Adam Schefter is reporting that...

September 4, 2008  05:00 PM ET

Maybe he can go to Tampa, I heard they are trying to field an offense of 11 QBs

Bye...Bye...!
