Eagles CB rips Rosenhaus

Sheldon Brown sees Lito Sheppard's new agent, Drew Rosenhaus, as a villain, and the Eagles' starting right cornerback unleashed a verbal assault on the high-profile agent before practice. "I think sometimes agents can ruin players' careers," Brown said. "And what I mean by that is we have an agent who has four players who are disappointed with the way their deal is, and we're going into Week 1, and nobody has accomplished anything with those players." It gets better. "If you know the guy's track record and what he brings to the table, it's more of a disappointing thing for me that [Rosenhaus] enticed [Sheppard] to sign with him thinking he could get a deal done," Brown said. "Agents don't get a deal done. The player gets the deal done. Yeah, he put [Sheppard] in a tough spot, but at the end of the day, that's something he has to deal with." Brown's attack came after he watched Rosenhaus' most recent weekly rant on YouTube.com. Rosenhaus used that forum to lament Sheppard's situation, detailing all the Eagles' cornerback has had to "endure" this off-season. He mentioned the signing of Asante Samuel to a $57 million deal that "dwarfs" Sheppard's contract, then added how unfair it was that his client had to play the role of third cornerback behind Brown. It was that last part that irritated Brown.

If Drew Rosenhaus promised Brown he could get him a
57 million dollar contract.
Brown would be his best friend.
All agents are trying to get their clients paid now before all hell breaks loose during the next owners negotiations.
Sheldon Brown should worry about his own business
and let his teammates who are looking out for their own futures worry about theirs.

what a Dbag

September 4, 2008  07:10 AM ET

Just one more example of Rosenhaus destroying the concept of team. And don't think for a minute that he's doing all this "in the best interest" of his clients. He is the greediest money w.h.o.r.e of all.

a player unhappy with rosenhaus ... I'm stunned!!!!

September 4, 2008  08:21 AM ET

Good for you Sheldon. i like that an NFL player is speaking against agents and speaking up for the team. Pretty Rare these days

September 4, 2008  08:42 AM ET

WOW! I nominate Sheldon Brown for the player of the year award......He nailed it .. It took a lot of courage to say what he said..I agree with him 100%..An agent never got a player a contract..Only players can do that...If an agent can get you a contract, then get one and see what a team tells you...

Sheldon Brown was worrying about his own business, earned the starting job, and then fat mouth Rosendoosh brought him into it. Not only is he causing an issue in the locker room by stirring up Lito, he is causing a rift between him and Brown and they were the closest of friends.

Sheldon Brown speaks the truth, always has. Gotta love that guy. As for Lito, maybe if you played as well as you think you are, the Birds could've used 57 mil on someone else instead of replacing your oft-injured whiny behind.

With that said, I think Lito is a fine Nickel back and having all three on the field will be fun to watch.

And everybody thought the Cowboys would be the first team to explode in the NFC East...

September 4, 2008  09:01 AM ET

Shame Birds fans and Front Office have to "endure" more of Rosenhaus' **** antics. I cringe whenever I see him or Scott Boras representing any Philly player!

September 4, 2008  09:09 AM ET

Shut your piehole, Sheppard.........If Samuel struggles and proves he is a system DB, you will get your job back.........

September 4, 2008  09:11 AM ET

Rosehaus needs to be taken out into a field and shot right along with Boras. they are both cancer for the NFL

Pacman is ticking....you see him on Hard Knowcks with Deion last night? "Why should I call Roger Goodell? I'm not callin...I sent him a letter...he sent me one".

Classy. I'm sure Roger was watching Adam.

BIGGIED | 09/04/08, 09:11 AM

Rosenhaus does his job. His clients aren't the owners of the NFL. His clients are the players. He got Willis McGahee drafted in the first round with a blown out knee. Shockey wanted out....he got Shockey out. He got T.O. a new deal this summer. So I would say he does his job pretty good. Is he 100% effective in his methods? Naw, he's not. But if I was an NFL player, he would be high on my list.

September 4, 2008  09:15 AM ET

I love Rosenhaus because he gets all the Cowboy deals done and helps blow up the Eagle locker room! Go Rosenhaus Go!

Pacman still does have some resentment towards Goodell, and I saw that. But I thought that part on Hard Knocks was more about Deion having an influence on his life. I bet he called Goodell when they got off that boat. And BTW, everybody said T.O. "is ticking" for the past 3 years. When does the bomb explode? When he doesn't get the ball enough? Well, that happened in the playoff loss to the Giants. Sometimes people change.
