Liddell's controversial pre-fight habits

On the afternoon of his 2004 mega-fight with Tito Ortiz, Chuck Liddell decided to take a shower -- with two groupies. A couple hours later he knocked Ortiz out in one the biggest victories in UFC history. "Now matter how hard I train or how seriously I take a fight, when you get an opportunity to have a good time, you've got to take it," Liddell said. "So if I relaxed with a couple of girls before the Tito fight, no harm." This behavior isn't much of a secret. Liddell wrote all of the above in his best-selling autobiography, "Iceman." The guy is famous for his power, not his Puritanism. The former UFC light heavyweight champion is known to party pre- and post-fight, pound down beers with fans and juggle women by the half dozen. "What can I say, it's good to be a winner," he wrote. Then all of a sudden Liddell got knocked out by Quinton "Rampage" Jackson at UFC 71 in 2007. He got scolded for being out on the Las Vegas Strip during the days leading up to the defeat, supposedly a sign he wasn't focused. Since we know what happens in his hotel room, visiting a club may have been a good sign. That's not how a lot of people took it. Liddell still hasn't figured out why.

Hey Dapper Dave, I'm pretty sure Chuck is more then a 15 minute fame guy. He has been the UFC Champion on more then one occasion and has been in the sport for years now. Think before you type.

One of the most ignorant posts I have ever read on here. If by 15 minutes you mean 5 years or so. Get a clue dude. Sounds like you're a little jealous that Chuck got more play before a fight then you've probably had your whole life.

I'm not really a Chuck fan, nor do I dislike him, but two chicks ina shower is one way to prepare for a fight. Probably the BEST way if you ask me. Lol!

Oh and Dapper Dave, Tommy Morrison's HIV test was just proved to be a mistake, he never had it, and they stole about 10 years of his life. Lidel is one of the big reasons this is even a recognized sport. His work the last 5 plus years are a big part of why MMA finally became popular.... Im going to ahve to agree with Jason and Jayhawk

When was it discovered it wasn't true he has HIV??? I know he said that but when tests were done again by boxing they came back positive again thats why he hasn't been given a liscence in certain states... Unless there is a new story out there I don't know about.

Word on the street is when he went to fight in the Pride Middleweight championship tourney he was in terrible cardio condition and he got taken out a bit earlier than he and Dana thought...

Let's see what his cardio is for this upcoming fight. Of course he could get lucky and land a haymaker or one of those looping hooks and catch Rashad and the above would become a moot point.

Chuck is MUCH better than Tito so some partying making him a little slower wasn't really a big deal. Chuck and Rampage are closer to the same level so getting slowed from his peak has more of an impact.

Yeah, that's why he got knocked da **** out in the first round by Rampage Jackson - because he's so dangerous. Liddell looked like he was "with child" in that fight - bulging belly and all. He ran like a "that time of the month" p*ssy, and got k.o.'d as soon as he stood and attempted to act like a fighter.

I got one word for you moron!
