Phoenix LPGA event in doubt

The future of the Valley's LPGA Tour stop remains unsettled, although the tour is confident about keeping it in place and Commissioner Carolyn Bivens has told tour players that the event will be played next year. Safeway pulled out as sponsor after this year's tournament, ending a five-year run as the Safeway International at Superstition Mountain Golf and Country Club. Tournament Golf Foundation, Inc., which has run the event the past five years, continues to search for a new sponsor, but Bivens assured players during a meeting two weeks ago at the Safeway Classic in Portland, Ore., that it will remain on the schedule March 26-29.

Is it me or is Bivens EVEN WORSE than Finchem? The way she is running it, this tour won't exist in 5 years...shame on her.

AF's right. She may have steered this thing into the iceberg.

I don't think it is. My iceburg floated by her office a few months ago, and I don't think that's her.

This is getting strange.

I do think that's Sarah Palin, though.

My initial findings do not support your theory, Slink. However, I'll keep digging.
