Pats coach motivated by SB loss
For much of last season, Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels was the maestro of arguably the greatest offense in the history of the NFL, one that set records for points in a season (589) and touchdowns (75). His name was bandied about for head coaching positions. But in the biggest game of the season, Super Bowl XLII, the symphony of offensive precision the precocious Ohio native had conducted all season was silenced by the New York Giants in a 17-14 loss. Patriot protocol is not to talk about the past, but McDaniels did touch on what he gleaned from that game. OMcDaniels is motivated by the way the offense sputtered in the Super Bowl. He is eager and excited to correct his mistakes, starting tomorrow at Gillette Stadium against the Chiefs.

It really is all about protecting Brady. If you do he is exceptional. If you do not, then he is very ordinary and there are no magic plays..

The entire organization better be motivated by that loss. Let's get the job done right this time fellas.

I agree with you 50yearfan, if you cannot protect the QB (whether Brady and Manning or anyone else) your offense will sputter. It's a cold hard reality for the majority of teams in the league.

When is this Belichick porno coming out?
50, I agree. Before the Giants, Brady used to be able to eat and sandwhich and polish off a brewskie before throwing the ball. That's a luxury 95% of QB's simply don't have.

I have to laugh about the "blue print" for beating the Pats..It is simply this. If you can get five guys like Strahan, Osi, Tuck, robbins and Alford all playing at a high level to drive the QB into the ground 19 times a game, then you can keep their offense in check....Not exactly rocket science.
Now you just need another one for Welker. Oh, and if you can get Faulk out of the game then that helps a whole lot on the dump off passes....

Wow, a press release masquerading as news.
50yearfan, you're absolutely right that a decent QB is more effective when his OL is strong. Which is what worries me about my team...

he should be motivated by his arrogance to not max protect Brady during that game. Belichick was believing his own press about how great his team was. hopefully he learned a lesson.

50 yearfan, thanks for the vote of confidence (on the Sillers and the local swill). I think they've addressed some OL issues, but I'm worried about the center and LG positions. It's very unlike us to not have a year-after-year reliable center (i.e., Webster, Dawson)

IronCityGirl ..The O line will be fine. The best running back in this last draft is in black and Gold..Too easy to get caught up in names when it comes to lineman. It is a work ethic position G and Center as much as talent. Pittsburg knows lineman, Y'ins will be fine.
