Ricky to start for Dolphins
It already can be considered a minor accomplishment that Dolphins running back Ricky Williams will begin the season on an active roster instead of a list of suspended or retired players for the first time since 2003. Feeling greedy, though? Now, Williams also will start his first season opener in five years. Although getting the nod might have as much to do with Brown's limited repetitions in the preseason as it does with Williams' ascent, the starting gig is nonetheless one final endorsement of confidence from this coaching staff. It also means less time before Williams gets the opportunity to show what all of the fuss has been about. After all, even a few solid carries in the preseason isn't enough to fulfill anyone's appetite, considering the high praise heaped on Williams this offseason.

No surprise here. Brown is a good, solid back, but Williams is at a whole other level.

Williams is a beast. I have always been a Ricky fan. I hope he runs wild this year. Bill Parcells did cast some sort of magic football spell on him to run or 1500+ and 20 TD this year. That magic football spell being Jake Long.

Ricky starts for now. Short leash though. He under-performs, comes late or misses a meeting or drill, or fails any test and the fins will pull the rip-cord quickly.
He's got ability, its just a question of if his baggage is behind him.

The other issue is how the Fins' O-line will hold up.

No way, your kidding me. I thought Favre was the only guy playing in that game.
I hope the guy runs for 200 yards.

I was a huge Ricky Williams fan but the complete idiotic antics with the pot changed my mind quite a bit. It isn't that he smoked weed but that weed mattered enough to someone that they would possibly give up 8 million or so dollars for it. That is a sure sign of stupidity. I hope he has turned things around and keeps it together because he was always fun to watch.
