Arsenal has reportedly entered the hunt to sign Ghanian midfielder Stephen Appiah, who is a free agent after having been released by former club Fenerbahce. Appiah has already been linked with a host of clubs this summer including West Ham, Tottenham, Genoa and Juventus and it now appears that Arsene Wenger may be about to make a move for the midfielder.

A return to the EPL can help even up the competition a bit, after the mammoth trasnfer window where arsenal was on the losing end. they could really use him

Man, this guy is a real good player too. He is a good holding midfielder, makes plays and that's something Arsenal and every team needs. Did anyone watch him and Essien play together? They are a sight to see, Watch out for Ghana in 2010, maybe not WC winners but some upsets.

This would be a quality signing for Arsenal.

FCLucho - good call...Appiah is good, good midfielder.

I wouldn't say Arsenal lost in the transfer period. They just didn't get the guy that everyone wanted them to. Nasri is panning out very nicely and we'll see what we get out of Silvestre. I agree we prob should have gotten a defnesive mid to pair with Cesc...but it wasn't made...thie would be a welcome signing for Gooooners.

Would be a good pickup by Arsenal.

Any team should be happy to have him. He's a very good mid that I think is workld class and this should be a good fit for him.
