Jay Frye, who has engineered a solid turnaround at Team Red Bull is back from a post-California trip to the company's Austrian headquarters, and is reported to be seriously considering moving to the Stewart-Ryan Newman Chevy team next season. According to those close to the situation, Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz wants Frye to put former Formula One driver Scott Speed in a full Cup ride next season, though there is still only sponsorship support for two drivers. Brian Vickers and AJ Allmendinger are the team's Cup drivers, and Frye wants to keep both. If Frye stays, that would likely mean a three-car team.

WHY DO THEY NEED TO PULL AN OPEN WHEEL GUY!!!! The team itself is looking VERY racy, but to pull an open wheeler over is just lame. I guess it is the fashinable thing to do nowadays. They should read the comments here...get a good Nationwide name and get them groomed. Vickers and Almendinger could make the team an upstart team that could dominate but it will only bring them down to go with speed.

Speed has done okay, but I doubt if he has enough seat time to move up to cup.

Depsite his success in Arca, Trucks and limited Nationwide races, Red Bull is pushing his entry to Cup. A partial Cup schedule next year is the way to go with Scott Speed.

Hmm this really a 2 part article???
Is Fry going to Stewart-Ryan Newman Chevy team or is he going to stick around with Red Bull and make it a 3 car team???
Seams like the man has a ton of ambition either way.
Two very tough roads to be led down.

Scott Speed's going to be a great addition to NASCAR. He's making his Sprint Cup debut at the Bank of America 500 at Lowe's on Oct. 11th. This guys extremely talented, what he's done this year is amazing and he's done it with zero stock car experience. With that said, he'll benefit by running in the Truck's in '09, run a handful of Sprint Cup also and then good Sprint Cup in '10.
