The struggles in the U.S. automobile sales market are trickling down to racing, with the latest blow coming to the Craftsman Truck Series. Dodge will not provide any financial support to any teams in the series in 2009, Dodge Motorsports senior manager Mike Delahanty said. "We'll have no factory-funded teams," Delahanty told ESPN.com. "When times are tough, there are certain things that are lower on the priority list than others.

Now we can let TOYOTA pay for the series and you foriegn vehicle lovers can watch a steady parade of TURDS run around the track. At least until the japanese run into hard times then the series will be done. Lie in your beds and enjoy the fruits of their labor.

The Amercan auto industry made their own beds by refusing for years and years and years to develope fuel efficient technology like the rest of the world was doing. They continued to make bloated dinosaurs until it was too late and they fought tooth and nail to stop any increase in the MPG ratings. Now they want congress to give them a 50 billion loan so they can catch up. Thats how America works nowdays.....screw up and get the government to bail you out.

Dodge is looking to sell the rights for someone to make the viper if they don't find a buyer they will drop it all together.
They are looking to pull out of the truck Series. Who knows when Nationwide and cup will follow.
I don't think the future looks to bright for the Chrysler corp.
