Is Bivens' job in jeopardy?

The LPGA blinked. It had to back off because there's too much golf money from the Asian rim at stake. The LPGA's biggest single revenue source is TV money from Korea. And there was too much evidence from too many interviewed civil liberties experts warning the LPGA wouldn't have a legal leg to stand on in the courts if it didn't soften its stance. This should also serve as a wake up call for the small number of parents of foreign players on the LPGA who don't really want their daughters to become proficient in English. Yes, there are golf parents out there who believe the time it takes their daughters to learn English and do more interviews, is time taken away from the daughters on the practice tee. This is part of the battle Carolyn Bivens has been fighting since she took over as commissioner three years ago. She lost the skirmish this time and it has cost her valuable political capital in a powerful position that has always been a fragile one because of the diverse demands of its members. She is the seventh LPGA commissioner in a relatively short time. A few more poorly-vetted policies and there will begin to be whispers that she is starting to run out of mistakes.

She shouldn't be given anymore chances.

She has already proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that she is a horrible administrator.

Both the regular tour and the ladies tour have got two of the worst leaders anyone has ever seen.

Obama for LPGA commish, he can put it on his resume next to Community Organizer

I'm thinking of starting a fan club, Helen, and I'd put you at the top of my list of worhippers but since you're deaf, blind and dumb--I'll pass.

All commenters here look for the day when you actually have something intelligent to say.

Now there is a mission impossible.

September 8, 2008  12:56 PM ET

I'd put McCain in as commissioner.

But, then he really belongs in a museum.

September 8, 2008  01:30 PM ET

Any time the civil rights crowd gets involved you know there are going to be problems for american's. And Mcain does belong in a museum that honors vets as the hero's they are for serving this country, something Jobama never has done, nor ever will.

September 8, 2008  02:21 PM ET

Jonis,

A fan club? The beast that birthed you wouldn't get involved with that.

I won't get into a war of wits with you. You're clearly unarmed.

September 8, 2008  02:29 PM ET

Oh, and Jonis, you were sure quick to agree with me on the issue of long putters a few days ago.

I must say something intelligent from time-to-time, though that's not why I'm here.

I'm here to be your foil. It's working.

I am:

Have You?!?!

at least Obama actually care about veteran issuess instead of just telling old war stories. Before you respond I did serve

September 8, 2008  06:11 PM ET

How do you say "you're fired" in English ???

September 8, 2008  06:29 PM ET

Obama cares? Like when he passed up visiting wounded soldiers so he could go play basketball? Is that what you mean or do you have specific examples such as ANY legislation or ACTION on taken on Obama's part. And I also served.

September 8, 2008  08:15 PM ET

Obama passed up visting the troops because he didnt want to politicize the visit. Oh and name one bill that McCain has passed in his 21 years in office.
He Opposed Veteran Educational Assistant act That will allow Veteran to get a well earned education while being assisted with the cost. And the very watered weak a,s,s version that he supported, McCain was not even present during the floor vote

beside that What branch were you in? I was Air Force, no Air Force jokes.
My brother is in the Army and he has pulled out all of the airforce jokes

September 8, 2008  10:39 PM ET

The reason he cancelled the visit is because his campaign manager wasn't allowed, do your fact checking.

September 9, 2008  01:56 AM ET

MrMiyagiJr is correct. Obama could not bring in his Campaign Mngr and Press Team, so he backed out visiting the wounded Vets. Shamefull.

September 9, 2008  06:59 AM ET

We all admire McCain and anyone else who wore the uniform. But that's not enough. 30 days after he left his wife and kids he married the woman he has now. Does that mean anything to you? It does to me.

Politically, he has nothing to offer but a continuation of GOP corruption.

No thanks.

September 9, 2008  10:31 AM ET

Why should you worry about his divorce? Did you get this upset when Clinton was boinking everything in sight? What about the fact that McCain and his wife have been married ever since?

And I guess the Dem's candidate Edwards having a love-child while his wife was dying from cancer is cool. And Clinton banging interns while ordering attacks in Kosovo was OK too right? I really don't think that's a direction a Democrat should think about going...

September 9, 2008  02:57 PM ET

McCain is a cancerous sack of assorted GOP meats.

September 9, 2008  03:54 PM ET

The point which you are missing, Mr. Wrong, is that McCain and Palin are the last people to be throwing out to the general public the notion that they somehow hold near and dear to them "moral convictions".

We know that ain't true. But you can try to BS us if you want.

And, after an eight year display of "moral bankrupcy" and "unspeakable corruption" Palin and McCain don't represent a change from the valueless administration we have now.

Face it, the GOP is the bottom of the barrel.

Are you still speaking of the Clintons, such as when the GAO reported that the Clinton's STOLE white house furniture and stored it in Little Rock? Or when they fired the entire travel office and blamed them of being corrupt until the FBI cleared them? Your choice big guy!
