Troy Percival's latest struggles have not shaken the confidence manager Joe Maddon has in him. Maddon reiterated Sunday that Percival -- who blew his fourth save Saturday and has allowed six runs and four hits in two outings since coming off the DL -- will remain the closer.

They'll have to look at doing something else though, if he continues to struggle.

At this point.. I would not question Rays.. they have had an amazing season. Boston still has time and they should have options if they cannot win.

Hope Maddon's making the right decision...hate to see the Rays get swept out of the first round of the playoffs b/c they can't close out a game.

Were are you "Dan The Man" ??? You should be all over this story defending your guy - "Dan The Man" Wheeler !!!

Maddon has to say stuff like this to keep Percival's morale up. That's part of coaching. In the back of his mind he's looking @ options.

Great run, but it was inevitable, the Red Sox just have too much experience down the stretch, so the Rays will be fighting for the wild card, since my Yankees have apparently decided that winning is not important this year

I'm a Sox fan, but the Rays may have enough pitching to win the East and leave the wild card for the Red Sox, which puts them against the Angels in the opening round. Either way, the Rays are tough, and Percival will be okay.
