Will Marion Barber play against the Eagles? That will be a major storyline this week. Barber left the game after bruising his ribs in the second half. The X-rays were negative, and the Cowboys are optimistic that he'll be able to play against in next week's big NFC East matchup.

Yes. And it will be a great game. The Eagles are a play off team. Your basic NFC East " total war" contest....

September 8, 2008  07:03 AM ET

Barber will be ready to go. Jones and Choice looked good in his absence thought.

The Cowboys were able to control the Browns. The Eagles are much tougher Defensively and should be one of the Best this season. I expect my Cowboys to win, but it will be a dog fight till the end.

The Eagles have the No. 1 Offensive line in the NFL. Cowboys, No. 2

I expect a war this week with the Eagles and because it's so early in the season I'm glad it's in Dallas! Barber will be ready and has ample backup if he's not! This game will be won on the defensive side of the ball as I know Jim Johnson has already polished up his blitz packages for us. Romo can plan to spend quite a bit of time outside of the pocket, as he will not enjoy the time to pick apart the Eagles as he did with the Browns!

I can't agree with that. The Cowboys O-line is massive and moves very well. Tony Romo had time to text Jessica Simpson when he was in the pocket yesterday.

You don't have to agree with it. The stats prove it to be fact.

Uh, total offense maybe? I knew Cowboys fans were fairweather but I didn't know they were complete idiots. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/statistics?stat=team&sort=ypg&pos=of f&league=nfc&order=true&season=2&year=2008

It was the St. Louis Rams. At home. Great, you put 500+ yards against a 3-13 team.

HELL YEA WE DID

McNabb looked good Lifer. Looked like his old self. I think that having their first game at home against a weak time really boosted his confidence level. However, you're coming to the Big D. Bring your A game.

September 8, 2008  08:21 AM ET

Barber will be ready !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hopefully the BOYS will get thier act together..... BECAUSE WE ARE GONNA STOMP THE EAGLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GO COWBOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you did.I'm not shocked McNabb had a great game. He's a top 5 QB when healthy honestly. But, let's see how he looks next week against a real team.

Agree - this will be a very physical game. Where is phillydave & Weapon X?

I've seen Emmitt Smith play with a dislocated shoulder before. Barber will be out there.

September 8, 2008  08:38 AM ET

Barber will play but the defense has to step up especially the secondaries. The secondaries are always suspect and it showed again yesterday. The DL did really well and well continue to play well. If the secondaries can get together then the Cowboys will be hard to stop.

Well I think Jones is a very competent back up. But, Barber will play. He's too tough not to.

Truth to that. I think they are still finding themselves. However, it needs to happen this week in practice or McNabb will have a field day.

JJ,
I think it's too early to make a statement like that. Wasn't the Rams' O-line (as well as the team in general) decimated with injuries last year? The bottom line is, last year is last year.
We will not know the quality of either team (the Browns or the Rams) until the season is over. We could just as easily say "but the Cowboys played the Browns" if the Browns end up going 3 - 13. Nuff said.
