06:13 AM ET 09.08 | Goodyear Estrella Foothills High junior guard Corey Hawkins didn't need to wait any longer. After two unofficial visits to Arizona State, the 6-foot-2, 190-pound combo guard has given coach Herb Sendek a commitment to play basketball there. "I feel real comfortable with the decision," said Hawkins, whose father Hersey is a former longtime NBA guard and an assistant coach at Estrella Foothills. Hawkins averaged 22 points and 7.6 rebounds as a sophomore on last year's Class 3A championship team. His brother, Brandon, a point guard who signed late this summer with Pacific, also averaged about 22 points last year when they were the dynamic duo of the team. Corey was much more recruited than Brandon coming up in school. Corey was also offered scholarships by Texas, Louisiana State and Stanford. Estrella Foothills coach Ty Amundson said that Arizona came in too late.

I'm assuming he's a point guard at only 6'2 ?
- if so & he can shoot like daddy- he'll be solid

if he's a 2....forget about it

think it will be awesome if i get the chance to see a McMillan and Hawkins (second generation) take the floor together. Their two fathers were pretty awesome playin for the "SEATTLE" supersonics!

I don't think Hawk could guard a chair. However, he could shoot it with the best of them. I remember him as a Sixer more than any other team.

Hawk was also a great person.......
