Weis' words on UM bulletin board

Will Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis' words come back to bite him? Michigan is paying attention, anyway. A YouTube video posted this summer showed Weis speaking at a booster brunch the day of the team's spring game. When Weis addressed the game against Michigan, he spoke of the Wolverines coming with "excuses" and punctuated it by saying, "To hell with Michigan." Wolverines defensive end Tim Jamison said Monday that the quote is "plastered all over our training room." "Whenever he made that comment, we don't know where it came from," safety Stevie Brown told the Detroit Free Press. "When coach Weis used to recruit me, he kind of had an arrogance about him, so I figured it's just him being him. I didn't think too much of it. We're just going to go in there with no excuses, and we're just going to play hard and try to win the game."

What is the deal with the DAILY Fat Charlie Weis stories?

September 9, 2008  06:15 AM ET

This is now a meaningless rivalry. To heck with both Michigan and ND.

Charlie Weis - another reason I'm ashamed of being from New Jersey...

September 9, 2008  06:56 AM ET

Neither of these teams look good this year. I honestly don't know who to pick for this game.

Surprise . . Weiss at a brunch. It would be cheaper paying him an appearance fee rather than give him a free brunch.

Will Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis' words come back to bite him?

How ironic would that be. Normally he's doing all the biting...

The photo was taken at the brunch when some 4 year old girl had the nerve to take the last piece of bacon from the buffet line...

Thats funny biminator!!!!!!!!!!!

September 9, 2008  09:14 AM ET

That must be a big board to put Charlie on it

Sony Sucks
There are coaches and there are pretenders. ND it is time to see.

September 9, 2008  09:57 AM ET

It's too bad the UM isn't familiar enough with the spread yet to smack ND around this year.
(Relax, Charlie. I meant "spread" as in offense, not buffet!)

Like any of the players can read!

September 9, 2008  10:42 AM ET

September 9, 2008  11:07 AM ET

Oops that's Offical NCAA Merchandise that is...

September 9, 2008  11:33 AM ET

Gee, and I thought he had his food order on the bill board..

September 9, 2008  11:35 AM ET

It's a shame really. This story was TNR fodder 3 months ago. Nothing new here, just FN trying to fire up old flames.

September 9, 2008  11:38 AM ET

Michigan will win the game, not because they're any good, but because Notre Dame is terrible.

September 9, 2008  11:48 AM ET

Jesus, do Michigan fans even know their own history?

"To hell with Notre Dame" - Bo Schembechler

Weis was just riffing on an old classic in a room full of boosters. Coaches talk trash all the time in those things.

Oh, the humanity. Get a grip Skunkbears.

September 9, 2008  11:48 AM ET

Aren't all non-ND fans cheering for Michigan to beat the crap out of Notre Dame?

I wanna see like 45-0 and wouldn't be surprised. Michigan is below average, ND only dreams of being below average.
