Michigan, State battle over recruit

What a difference a week makes. Last week, Thomas Gordon of Detroit Cass Tech was described as the most talented player in the PSL without a Big Ten scholarship offer. But all that changed as Gordon picked up a Michigan State offer on Friday and one from Michigan on Monday. The offers from the state???s two heavyweight programs only affirms the notion that Gordon is one of the best safety prospects in the Midwest for the class of 2009. At 5-feet-11 and 199 pounds and with 4.5 speed in the 40-yard dash, Gordon has the perfect measurables to be a hard-hitting safety at the next level.

Doesn't he already have a few buddies from Cass Tech at/gong to UM? That may help Blue's chances.

I would think he would go to Michigan. Michigan has recruited well at Cass Tech the past few years.

He's coming to the Arbor....

ONLY gang bangers and crackheads need to apply to MICHIGAN only. That's what RR wants on his new gutter football team.

so sorry, can't win them all!

Give Rich his time, my fine Northern Friends. Rich will begin winning. He started @ Tulane, plowed thru the Big East, now he's beginning again with The University of Michigan. He will get the players that want to play for him.

Then, watch out, OSU. My opinion.

No, that is Ohio State players.

September 12, 2008  10:56 AM ET

He will get the players that he wants. Only after he runs of all the white players.

September 12, 2008  11:52 AM ET

Why go to Michigan? That school is on the downturn.I honestly believe he will go to Michigan State. Michigan get's the best player's and does the least with them. He would thrive at State.

Crackheads like Plaxico Burress? Michigan has the highest "state school" entrance requirements in the Big Ten, whereas MSU lets in just about everybody with a pulse and a "teener" if you know what I mean. The jury is out on RR and Michigan is rebuilding, but please Thundercracksmoker, tell me when Michigan went more than two years without a bowl appearance? Would that be right when Schembechler came to Ann Arbor? He seemd to turn things around pretty quick......

September 12, 2008  03:16 PM ET

RR is raceist he hates white players,he ran off one of the best young QB the frist day he came to MICHIGAN.
