In an exclusive interview, Shaquille O'Neal told News 13 exactly how long it will be until he hangs up his high tops. For some time, Shaq has hinted at retirement, but now has an exact number of days. "My basketball career will be over in 735 days, and being an educated man, I've always had things to fall back on. So one of my options is law enforcement," Shaq said.

This is great news for Phx. His value just went way up. They should trade him right off the bat :)

Shaq weren't you stripped of your badge ??

September 11, 2008  10:41 AM ET

Clearly, he's trying to take as much money as possible, which he doesn't need to do... or perhaps he does. He said L.A. real estate was too expensive as well as getting a divorce, so he worked things out. If he dumped all those broads on the side, he'd free up some cap room.

September 11, 2008  10:43 AM ET

And yeah, Phoenix was officially out of the championship window 2 years ago so, please, let's not talk about the next 2. They're aging worse than the Spurs.

LOL Guess you'll need look up "Punctuation". Otherwise all your posts should carry an automatic '*'. Like Bonds does.

September 11, 2008  10:57 AM ET

oh no, please don't play any longer.

September 11, 2008  11:16 AM ET

Shaq should of retired 2 years ago.

September 11, 2008  11:21 AM ET

Educated? Probabaly should go back to school and learn free throw shooting.

September 11, 2008  11:28 AM ET

He may need extra cash now that he is going to court and clearly has lost his mind.

September 11, 2008  11:35 AM ET

If he can contribute to the team in a positive manner and stays in shape, I'll be okay with this as we are all well aware of his salary coming off the book s at that point. The problem is, once he's gone, who will play the pivot? Stodemire has made it clear and shown that he's better suited at the PF spot and won't want to go back. Is Robin Lopez the answer? I hardly think so.

September 11, 2008  11:54 AM ET

Actually play or just show up for 2 more
