Billy Wagner plans on pitching again, but there's a zero percent chance it will happen with the Mets. Reliever Scott Schoeneweis visited the injured Wagner -- who is recuperating from Tommy John surgery -- Friday at his home in Greenwich, Conn., and then told reporters the closer has already been informed by the Mets that his 2010 option won't be picked up.

Another non-story. It's a $9 million option for 2010 or a $1 million buyout..... Who would pay $9 million for a 40 year old pitcher coming off of major reconstructive surgery?

I don't think the Mets fans are upset that he will never throw another pitch for them.

Nyet problem

Poor baby, he gets 9 million next year for nothing and 1 million the following year for nothing! My heart goes out to him! 10 million for nothing. Almost like the Phillies with Freddy Garcia - 10 million dollars for 1 win last year! Bye-Bye Billy don't let the dorr hit you in the ,,,,,,,,,

I don't think this is a surprise to anyone that Wagner is done with the mets

It's possible that Wagner will pitch for the Mets again next September, although it probably wouldn't be that significant.

Joba will be home in a few weeks, watching the playoffs, that's what's going on with Joba.

Piss on Joba another overhyped Yankee

The Mets need not worry anymore about Wagner. And stop crying no money!!! They need to let Pedro go and the rest of thatlousy bullpen Sschhhhenwes, whatever Smith and Heliman and start fresh with K-rod, Fuentes and Kunz. Keep Ayala and Feliciano. Also will you sports writer's stop crying like the Mets are the ROYALS OR PIRATES and can't afford anyone. It's real simple addition by subtraction minus Pedro,Smith,Heilman and SCHWWIN WHATEVER!!! And it makes allot of sense.....

It is obvious, the Mets need a closer now, and once they have that, why pick up the option on Wagner. Wagner has done a great job for the Mets, he got his keep and he can retire in peace, plenty of money for sure.
