A's outfield shaping up for '09
Oakland's roster is about to be overrun by outfielders, but Ryan Sweeney is likely to be atop just about any list the team compiles when considering outfield options for next year, and Aaron Cunningham could be right there, too. Cunningham is batting .429 with men in scoring position, and he's 4-for-9 with nine RBIs with runners in scoring position and two outs. The 22-year-old, part of the Dan Haren deal with Arizona, is batting .304 overall since being called up at the end of August. Sweeney, also a rookie, has the best average among Oakland regulars, .294, and he has shown consistency all season both offensively and defensively. On Wednesday or Thursday, the A's will welcome outfielders Carlos Gonzalez, Travis Buck and Chris Denorfia from Sacramento, which plays for the Triple-A title Tuesday night against Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in Oklahoma City.

For some reason I like the A's as my AL team of choice (Mets fan for life, though) and I hope they get better so I can wear my A's cap with pride.

I have been an A's fan since the 70's so I am all aware of the ups and downs of an outfield. Example as everyone knows of Rickey Henderson, Hendo, Dwayane Murphy, CansayImon steroids, good outfielders. Bu this group is going to be awesome down the road now we just need to work on the infield esp 3rd and Starting Pitching. Also with this article that Padilla guy from Texas what it is deal beaning. I wish could have him at the plate and throwing inside a little to close to him, MLB should look into this and suspend the guy for a few games next year.
