Mets clear air in closed-door meeting

Around 4:45 p.m. Tuesday, the Mets ushered a few intruders out of their clubhouse and closed the door. It was time for a meeting. More importantly, it was an opportunity for interim manager Jerry Manuel to vent his frustrations. Often, these types of events are clandestine in nature, and players are tight-lipped. But this time the meeting agenda was apparent. The Mets are in dire straits, and Manuel wanted to inject some positive reinforcement -- whether his team needed it or not. "A lot of times when preachers preach, they're more or less preaching to themselves than the congregation," Manuel said. "So it's probably a good thing for me, kind of let them know where I am and how I feel about it. It'll probably do me more good than them." Time will tell if it helps the Mets. For the past four games, the team has looked nothing like the club that was starting to put the finishing touches on a dramatic turnaround.

Let see, who is this year's version of the 2007 Mets, the 2008 Mil. Brewers or the 2008 Mets. Both seem to be choking big time!

Can't call it a choke this year the Phils and Mets have gone back and forth all season....looks like we are hitting the stride at the right time again tho.....

You guys should be thankful we swept the Brewers so you have a shot at the wild card as well.
