With camp opening Saturday and Olli Jokinen gone, Panthers people think it's about time Nathan Horton (drafted third overall in '03) raises his game after seasons of 28, 31, and 27 goals. ''His potential is far beyond what he has ever done,'' goaltender Tomas Vokoun said.

Pretty thin article here.

But on a bright note, no mention or even attempted tie-in to any indecisive Swedes anywhere in this piece. So I have to thank the Miami Herald and T&R for that much at least.

Of course...his team blows. I'd like to see what this guy can do an a real team...I'd be happy to have him on mine.

Wait for tomorrow Yoda. We'll have at least two stories on indecisive or unhealthy Swedes now.

September 17, 2008  07:58 AM ET

Martin needs to put some talent around the guy then we'll see what he can do.

It's still early, darkstorm. I'm not sure we're going to avoid them TODAY yet.

September 17, 2008  08:10 AM ET

I cant imagine who you guys are talking about.

September 17, 2008  08:10 AM ET

I'm crossing my fingers now.

This story isn't just thin, it's skeletal. Still, it's not in the running for Least Detailed Story on T&R award. That still goes to the two-liner on Mark Parrish a couple of weeks ago.

Vokun's very nice way of saying" This little weasel had better step it up this year, or we'll take that potential and ram it up his A** so far he'll think we're shooting a shower scene in Oz"

Horton certainly has the potential to be a 40 goal scorer. Maybe a 40-40 player? Perhaps. He'll get tons of ice time this year.

September 17, 2008  04:18 PM ET

Tons of ice time yes...but who's he gonna skate with?
