Kevin Gregg -- who's unlikely to return in 2009 but wants his closer job back despite knee pain -- said, ''If you stick me in as a set-up guy, you're devaluing my trade value. I've been in many conversations with Fredi Gonzalez and there's a lot of indecision going on.'' Gregg has 29 saves and nine blown saves.

They could trade him to the Tigers, and Detroit will give up their top prospects for him, like they gave up Maybin and Miller.

What a dumb thing to say... he wants the team he would potentially be traded to to give up more for him - and have less as a result?

Hey Kevin Gregg - You are what you are. Since they are using you as a setup pitcher, guess what?

September 17, 2008  10:06 AM ET

Your save percentage is 76%....... if you didn't want to be taken out of the closer role, you shouldn't have blown 9 saves......

September 17, 2008  10:33 AM ET

Not to mention his contract value.

He was injured during thoose 9 saves and didnt tell that to the team thats why he blow those 9 saves.

So that makes it understandible then? He's not that great.

C'mon coach, screw the team.........this is all about me.........

I think the first problem is the extra G in Greg's name. Think about the "Greggs" in recent baseball history. An overweight umpire (Eric Gregg) who had a ridiculously enormous strikezone any time Greg Maddux or Tom Glavine was on the mound, and an underachiever (Gregg Jefferies) who couldn't even beat Kevin Elster or Tim Teufel out of a job even though the Mets gave him a million opportunities... It's that extra G that's diminishing your trade value, Kevin!

whoa, before you worry about your trade value, you should worry about getting out of the ninth without blowing the lead.

Well here you have the typical Major League "spoiled brat" !!! Why not worry about your team first - JERK !!!

i think gregg has a bad case of jddrew-itis : which involves inflammation of the cranium and can only be treated with a large dose of benjamins. WARNING: SIDE AFFECTS INCLUDE OPT OUT CLAUSES ,FAKE INJURIES ,AND UNDERACHIEVING.
