Middle Tennessee State Coach Rick Stockstill denied that his team stole Kentucky's play-calling signals during their game Saturday. Kentucky Coach Rich Brooks told The Lexington Herald-Leader he thought MTSU coaches were stealing signals during the Wildcats' 20-14 win at Commonwealth Stadium. In his weekly news conference Tuesday, Stockstill said Brooks' accusations were false. "We didn't steal his signals. We didn't even try," Stockstill said. "They won the game. They beat us, fair and square. We didn't steal any signals and didn't try to steal any signals. I wish we could've stolen a signal. Maybe we could've been able to beat them, but no, we didn't." Brooks was quoted as saying that MTSU was "either getting them from the field or the press box. They might have gotten some help from Tennessee. "Tennessee had them last year."

You'd think Rich Brooks would have some proof to come out with such bold accusations. I know it doesn't look good to barely beat Middle Tennessee, but at least have some proof, even if refutable, before you go off the deep end.

Why would UT (TN) take the chance of sharing this information with Memphis, they are hated rivals. It's would not be worth the risk.

Its Middle Tennessee State University not Memphis. MTSU is in Murfreesboro and in the Sun Belt. They are not rivals to UT and I could only find one time where they have played in the last 15 years and that was 2002.

How did Memphis get involved in this? I'm a Memphis fan, which makes me very humble, I wish to think we could just steal a win from anybody....

If you don't change how you signal your play calls from year to year, you're almost asking for it. "Tennessee had em last year"? Guy sounds a little paranoid. I wish MTSU would have won...that program almost lost it's Sunbelt status because no one was going to their games...
