As if there were any doubt, the Diamondbacks will not make a scapegoat out of manager Bob Melvin despite a recent slump that has made them a long shot for the playoffs. Melvin's job is as secure as it always has been, a D-Backs source with intimate knowledge of the situation said only hours after Milwaukee made startling news by firing its manager, Ned Yost, with 12 games left in the regular season.

I bet there was a group hug and a lot of grown men crying. "Bob Melvin, after careful review, you're a fine man, and we choose you, yes you, Bob Melvin, to continue to lead this team, through high seas and low seas, winning streaks, and losses, for you, Bob Melvin, are a Men among Men..."

When the Dbacks are in 1st place they always remind me of a person who finds himself in a fire and all he can think about is getting the heck out of there. That mentality is the fault of the manager. The Dbacks have never been known has a team who can maintain mental focus. They have incredible talent but their talent is not properly directed. If not Melvin, then who has the responsibility to direct talent and focus the ball club???s mental state?? Hello Dbacks, tell us what are you paying Melvin to do?
