According to an Austin, Texas, city council member, former Bears running back Cedric Benson is going to sign with the Lions. In a report by News 8 Austin, a 24-hour news channel in Texas, Austin city council member Mike Martinez and Benson, a former Texas Longhorns back, were supposed to announce a program by Benson's charity to help children get winter coats, but Benson was not in Austin for the announcement.

Yes, another great example for Kevin Smith to learn form. First Rudi and now Cedric? I need Matt Millen's job..

BoBo thinks Cedric will not make the Lyons any better. It very well could make them worse. The Lyons are such a fun team to watch make stategy moves. None make sense, but it's cheap entertainment. And no balloons are involved.....

Unless Benson beefed up and is going to play on the O-line, the Lion's running game will not look any different... We need a completely new line.

September 17, 2008  07:55 AM ET

Haha!

September 17, 2008  07:56 AM ET

...but they've got great WRs.

September 17, 2008  07:56 AM ET

they've got??? My mother would kill me if she read that.

September 17, 2008  07:57 AM ET

We need a completely new line.

BoBo thinks you need a lot more than a new O-line. BoBo thinks you guys need a new everything (except WR's). BoBo wonders if your watching the right team?

rudi's in trouble..

September 17, 2008  08:20 AM ET

It wont hurt the Lions any.

September 17, 2008  08:32 AM ET

It wont help any either!!!! There is no point in signing that bum. Kevin and Rudi are fine just need more carry's and a better oline.

September 17, 2008  08:38 AM ET

This is BS!!!! According to local news we brought in him, Alexander and Morency to create a short list in case someone goes down. There is no signing immenent, we are happy with Kevin and Rudi. This is nnot news.

The next round of Ford layoffs better include Matt Millen, the offensive line, and the team that plays in the first half.

Just keep the team that comes out in the second halves of games...

If the Lions havent fired Millen by now they never will.

September 17, 2008  09:00 AM ET

It is not worth signing him. He had 3 years to prove his worth w/ a good O line in Chicago. The guy won't learn. Lions are crazy to sign him. Detroit need a better QB

September 17, 2008  09:09 AM ET

matt millen may just be the greatest gm ever

September 17, 2008  09:27 AM ET

He still has potential, that???s why it took the Bears so long to let him go. Its worth the risk.

September 17, 2008  10:08 AM ET

Another move to add to the legacy of Matt Millen.........

September 17, 2008  10:11 AM ET

Maybe the management in Detroit feels that their players should be as drunk as the fans. Cedric Benson new book, "When one DUI isn't enough."

September 17, 2008  10:17 AM ET

its like the cowboys North, just without the talent...
