Red Sox sending Lowell to specialist

Unsurprisingly, Mike Lowell was sore today. The question now is whether Lowell's hip has suffered more damage that would prevent him from helping the Red Sox the balance of the way. Prior to tonight's series finale between the Sox and Tampa Bay Rays, Lowell met with manager Terry Francona on a pair of occasions in the visiting manager's office at Tropicana Field. Francona subsequently revealed that the Sox were sending results of Lowell's medical exams to a pair of specialists with the hope that Lowell would be able to return to the lineup this weekend in Toronto. For now, the question is whether the Sox can get him back on the field.

This guy is playing with a torn labrum in his back. Talk about giving it all as a teamplayer.

Why not sit him out in till the playoffs Sox can mange some wins down stretch. Just come back rest, I now you won't be 100%; but whatever you can do in the playoffs will be just fine.

Unfortunately the Red Sox have sent Mike Lowell to yours truly to see what IS NOT wrong with him !!! I have been under the knife 17 times for back, knee, shoulder and foot problems. Hopefully if I didn't have it neither does he !!!
