A-Rod, wife reach divorce settlement

The ugly divorce battle that painted Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez as a serial adulterer and "brainwashed" beau of pop icon Madonna is over. Rodriguez and his wife, Cynthia, announced Thursday night they have peacefully settled their multimillion-dollar divorce case. In her divorce petition, Cynthia Rodriguez, 35, demanded the couple's $12 million waterfront estate in Coral Gables, Fla., and "equitable distribution" of all assets acquired during the marriage. She also asked for alimony and child support from A-Rod, who made $28 million this season. She asked for life and health insurance and enough to pay for private schools so she and their two daughters can maintain the "high standard of living" they're used to. Alex Rodriguez countered that he was only willing to give her what was required in their prenup and threatened to make her pay his legal fees if she challenged the agreement and lost. Kluger said A-Rod and Cynthia Rodriguez had the best interest of their children, Natasha, 3, and Ella, 5 months, at heart throughout their negotiations.

And now...he can resume his life as a switch-hitter and propose to Jeter.

A-Rod is scum. I hope his ex takes him for all he's worth. If he had the best intrests of his kids in mind, he wouldn't have destroyed his family. Sleep well, d/bag.

I can't believe I''m sticking up for a guy in a Yankees uni but A-Rod is not the first man to cheat on his wife, and he's not the only pro athlete these days to be involved in a divorce. Yet somehow he will now be grilled, mocked and destroyed with some of the most vulgar, ignorant, and perhaps hilarious comments in weeks here at fannation.

I'm not really holier than anyone, but this guy takes the cake. Think about his kids for a minute.

"the high standard of living they're used to"... maybe in return he should get the "high standard of freakery that he's used to" from her every now and then

Huh?

In ohter words, Faith, as part of their settlement agreement, A-Rod should receive commensurate deviant sexual favors from his ex-wife in exchange for the amount of alimony he pays her. Makes perfect sense to me.

of course a women chimes in defending this ho who did NOTHING to help him get his money. She deserves ZERO. I agree on paying for the kids, but she should get NOTHING because she didn't help him anyway in his baseball career.

She deserves at least what was outlined in the pre-nup, signed by BOTH parties. He is the one who "strayed" from the marriage ... and yet you call her a ho. My previous assertion stands.

Fine, I agree on the pre-nup thing. But it seems as though she is asking for stuff outside the pre-nup which makes her a money grubbing ho...and she also "strayed" as well...she is not innocent in this thing...
