Tarvaris Jackson isn't going to pout about losing his starting quarterback's job, but he also isn't compelled to speak to the man who replaced him. Jackson said it isn't awkward, but he said he doesn't feel the need to break the ice with Gus Frerotte. "Nobody got to explain nothing to me. Nobody got to say anything to me," Jackson said. "Different pep talks or whatever; I pretty much know what I got to do. Like I said, I'm going to use this to my advantage and try to get better and try to use my frustration and stuff right now to my advantage." Frerotte said he respected Jackson's decision, noting that he has been through the situation before. "I've been there," Frerotte said. "I mean, you're having a hard enough time with it anyway." Still, Frerotte said he doesn't sense any animosity from Jackson.

If I lost my job to a man who injured himself celebrating, I wouldn't want to speak to him either..

"Nobody got to explain nothing to me."

Actually, I think someone got to explain why that sentence don't work right.

September 19, 2008  07:28 AM ET

Jackson should not sweat it. He'll be replacing Frerotte in no time, plus it was not Gus who made the decision to bench him. He does gots to work on the dialect though. When the media quotes him he sounds like Crispus Attucks.

Cant speak a lick of the native language...but can remember the play book....hmmm Some people are born to play FB. I was born to please women.

Hey Mental Ray -- don't disrespect C. Attucks -- He IS one the O.P.s (original patriots)who stood up to the British over 200 years ago!!!

Grow up Jackson you punk. Gus is there to play, and your
the one who played stoned, and got benched. Fans were
calling for it, and the coach had no choice. You and Gus need
to speak and give each other help or the Vikes are done!

Nice english TJack...Maybe while you are on the bench you should study some Phonics books.

He doesn't need Gus Frerotte OR the national anthem .. he's black!

Signed,
Josh Howard

Maybe he should be replaced by a 37 year old Journeyman. This would allow him time to study Hooked-On-Phonics.

BALFMA!

September 19, 2008  09:49 AM ET

It's not Frerotte's fault you got benched. If you are not speaking to some one make it the coach !!

September 19, 2008  10:01 AM ET

Still, Frerotte said he doesn't sense any animosity from Jackson.

Just like he doesnt sence the back side pressure and the pocket collapsing on him! To think this team was the glamor pick to win the SB this year. Just goes to show you just how smart the"pundits" are.

My guess is the call for the new QB came from the Veterans and/or Ziggy. He should be mad at Childress for actually giving him hope. He should have never been drafted where he was and never given the starting job in the first place. I think all this shows that Chidress is making Mike Tice look like Vince Lombardi. The first thing the Vikes should do is get a "play calling for dummies" book and give it to their coaching staff. That would be a good step first step.!

Goonie goo-hoo, Gus.

I love the move, please keep rotating QB's and run the ball all day.
It's a great week to have AP in fantasy.
