Great choice. Michigan might win a game next year.

September 19, 2008  07:41 AM ET

Come on! This is meeeechigan we're talking about. The college with the best winning % & the most wins overall. They'll win 5 games next year!

September 19, 2008  07:51 AM ET

Allllright. All we need now is a new coach!

September 19, 2008  08:15 AM ET

Michigan is finally getting some top DE recruits again...

September 19, 2008  08:36 AM ET

good luck.... go SC

September 19, 2008  09:15 AM ET

Are Michigan fans really down on RichRod already? Love him or hate him, I think he will bring Michigan back if given time.

High standards come with the job at Michigan (and many other schools).

It certainly looks all those WVU haters that said they didnt need RRod were wrong... they have lost more of their warm up games than they have won...

I personally think the new WVU coach is in over his head. Love him or hate him, RichRod will bring Michigan back. Look what Saban is doing at Alabama.

You are going to love his offense. I think that will change the way other teams recruit in the Big 10.

Stupid choice, I am not a USC fan, but that is where you should of chosen to go. Michigan is going to be down the next 2, poss. 3 years. Plus it is warmer than Ann Arbor, better looking babes, come on. Wow, I should be a recruiter. Who Dat, Who Dat, Who Dat talking bout beating them Tigers.

September 19, 2008  10:56 AM ET

Michigan is the choice if you want to start, smart choice. Rich built VW, look at them now! THis is the end for VW. Intime Michigan will rise again into the spread offense. Which doesn't produce good quality nfl QB. PROVEN already! (Alex Smith-49ers).

USC depth chart is deep & no one wants to play USC right now....

September 19, 2008  11:30 AM ET

Once this young man gets the smell of RR gutter football he will change this mine.

September 19, 2008  11:30 AM ET

michigan will be back big time under coach RR.....look for a national championship by 2012!!!
you can go to the bank on that...GOBLUE!!!

September 19, 2008  11:38 AM ET

I think Michigan fans need to really cut RR some slack this year; it's going to take some time to get his thing going there but I'm betting we see noticeable improvements (and confidence) each game. I'm happy to have him here in the Big 10 as I think he'll be a force for change.

September 19, 2008  11:44 AM ET

Patience is a must. Give RR time, he is a proven winner. I am thinking after this year and next, Michigan will be really strong!

No, Michigan fans are not down on RR. Most of us, except for the whiners and those who wanted Les "dirty recruiter" Miles as the HC, are excited by what RR is doing. Just look how WVU has folded. Now, the same WV fans that wanted RR's head in a coal miner's helmet realize just how special he was and want him back!

And I am not sure why the Michigan haters seem to think that UM would not lose any games when the team is adjusting to a new system and stocked full of inexperienced players? Oh wait, that's what haters do.

September 19, 2008  11:50 AM ET

The guy is a beast and should have a good career at MU.

Only those with absolute confidence that they can go up against anybody want to go to USC right now; but that also applies to Florida, Oklahoma, LSU and a few others

Yeah, stupid choice! First off, no matter where he goes, the chances of him redshirting are high as he'll need to but on bulk. If he had gone to USC, he'd be lucky to see any playing time. At Michigan, he'll have the resources of a great S&C, which is one of the KEY reasons why he picked Michigan, and he'll see early playing time where he most likely wouldn't at SC with their depth. This kid is smart, smarter than you, and he made his choice after doing a lot of research. Now it's up to him to realize his potential.
