Rumors that the Flyers are looking to obtain Tampa Bay's Vinny Lecavalier seem to be unfounded. The Lightning have some cap problems in what they can spend, but general manager Jay Feaster said the team was "OK with our budget for this year, and we're not trading any of our big guys."

Good move not to get rid of one of your major producers.

June 17, 2007  10:59 AM ET

This was less of a rumor and more just a Philly wish.

June 17, 2007  11:10 AM ET

Wasn't even a Philly wish, a radio guy mentioned that the Flyers should move the 2nd overall for an established player. Put together a deal for a "Vinny type" player. Then all the morons run with it.

Philly is probably the worst city ever. Who would want to go there, its place aka - MUSH.

June 17, 2007  02:05 PM ET

y does philly think they can get all these awesome players
i know they have money but who would want to go there hahah

June 17, 2007  03:13 PM ET

roberto ill tell why players would want to go to philly....its simple they win(except for last year, they were horrible.) , and they want the money.Out of their 35- 40 years in exsistence the Flyers have only missed the playoffs eight times. Plus any established player going to Philly knows theyre going to hit the jack pot. The flyers are going to be alot better than people think next year now that they have speed and finally have a no.1 goalie.

June 18, 2007  12:25 AM ET

How about the fact that Philly was voted one of the best cities to play hockey in? As voted on by the players. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it roberto and skinny vinny!

June 18, 2007  07:58 AM ET

NHL players voted Flyers fans the most intimidating in the NHL.
Every player in the NHL wants to play for the Flyers.
All of the negative comments about Philly, the fans, or the Flyers are from jealous fans of other NHL teams, where no one wants to play, and you know which places I'm talking about.

June 18, 2007  12:42 PM ET

Why all the Philly hating? You ask each and every NHL player to list their top 5 organizations to play for and the Flyers would be one of them. The best fans in the league who support the team religiously, a beautiful arena, committed ownership, and a history that rivals most teams from Canada since out inception into the league in 1967.

June 18, 2007  05:36 PM ET

Duh!!! No way is he going anywhere - none of the big 4 are. Hey Jay - Montreal is buying out Cully - I say bring him back - we should be able to get him for a good deal and he played some of his best hockey for us! Bring back Cullimore!!

June 18, 2007  10:12 PM ET

We don't need Lacavalier....Let'em rot in Tampa....Philly needs real players not pretty boy who whine up and down the ice when something goes wrong.....

June 19, 2007  02:53 PM ET

The negative rep imposed on the city of Philadelphia and it's fans continues to baffle me. Whether it's the misinterpretation of NFL draft boos or Santa catching a snowball decades ago, the media continues to bolster the myth, and the haters continue to feed like fish at the top of the bowl. There are few cities with as much passion for their sports teams, and far fewer that come close when specifically looking at the Flyers and the NHL. When Philly does win a championship, the streets will be loud and the confetti will blot out the sun faster than you can say Mr. Burns.

vinnie is the only guy feaser can trade
i wonder why no one wants brad richards??
i mean the guy is the best player in hockey oops i mean the highest paid player in hockey
can tampa bay trade its GM pretty please

June 29, 2007  03:17 AM ET

the egos of the "big 3" can't be broken up. . . . . . . Richards would simply whine too much that his linemate does'nt make enough to play along side of him . . . . lol . . . .. .Tampa will simply rot . . . . . the big 3 will not allow Tampa to reasonably adjust so that the team could afford other help .
