Wings not worried about Hossa's back

Marian Hossa skipped a round of golf with teammates Thursday because of tightness in his back, but he's expected to be on the ice today for the opening of the Red Wings' training camp. In fact, Hossa apparently felt well enough to play in an outing Friday afternoon. "No big deal," Hossa said Friday morning. "It's just a little tight so I want to make sure it's safe. Don't worry. "It's OK with the skating." Hossa, who signed a one-year, $7.45 million free-agent deal with the Wings, will open on a line with Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom. On most teams, the expectations for Hossa would be different with the spotlight squarely on him all of the time.

With Hossa signing a one year contract, this is a low-risk endeavor for the Wings.

This is pretty much a non story---skipped golfing? Oh no. If he starts missing time on the ice, then it's a story.

His back is no better or worse than it was last year with the Penguins.

Now, to avoid tightness in his back, he should learn how to swing a golf club properly. Somebody needs to tell him a golf club is not a hockey stick!

Of course the Wings are not worried. It's not like Hossa has to carry that team on his back!

I stubbed my toe earlier this morning.

What's the direct line to T&R? It's another thing that Detroit DOES NOT care about for them to publish.

Hossa is just waiting for the Bruins to get some cap relief, then he'll come running.

Should I alert the local press Yoda? Maybe T&R will pick it up then.

They are the best team in the NHL. They have the best chance at winning it all again. You also might want to add a "?" at the end of your sentence. There's grammar police around this place. They'll taze you for misspellings and broken grammer.

And in a related story, the Maple Leafs are not worried about a torn fingernail on the pinky of the left hand of Mats Sundin.

Is it me or does Hossa look like he's trying to mount his hockey stick?
