How long is Westbrook out?

The Eagles have to hope that Brian Westbrook can heal as quickly as their defense did. Even though the Eagles bounced back from an emotional loss against Dallas, they may have suffered an equally huge loss with the departure of Westbrook. "Westbrook has an ankle strain and he'll have an MRI in the morning," coach Andy Reid said. "Off the X-rays, it's not fractured, but we'll do the MRI tomorrow and see what the deal is." The deal did not look good inside the home team's locker room after the game. Westbrook, who was injured on the first play of the second quarter, needed the aid of crutches to leave the locker room and he also was wearing a walking boot as he changed into street clothes. He declined to talk with the media after the game.

What a crappy game for us, I guess our O Line was back to their old tricks of not blocking anyone. Damn the Eagles D was good, I am glad I only watched the start of the game since I was at Yankee Stadium for the last game there....anyhow back on topic, the Eagles can ill afford to lose Westbrook, much as I don't like the Eagles, hope you are ok man

That sucks for the Eagles. Hopefully he'll be back relatively soon, but I have no problem if he misses week 5 against the Redskins.

September 22, 2008  07:26 AM ET

big game for the eagles. but paid a huge price.

September 22, 2008  07:29 AM ET

Without Westbrook the Eagles offense slows down a lot...

September 22, 2008  07:29 AM ET

That's tough. As much as I hate Iggles, I hope he's ok.

I don't think the game was evidence of the Eagles defense being good (We hung 41 on them) but the Steelers really being one-track minded. Run, run, run, maybe pass.

September 22, 2008  08:00 AM ET

duuuude. Not good. According to Andy Reid they don't think it's all that serious. He may be back next week.....maybe

OR you can make the claim that our D is actaully that good but D coordinator johnson called a consertative game and your boys simply took advantage of it.

9 sacks, 12 hurries, 12 knock downs, saftey, interception and a forced fumble

I wouldn't be pushing him too quickly to start. Let him heal. He's too vital to that offense.

If he's close to 80%, I say he plays. The NFC East looks brutal right now. I don't think you can take too many weeks off if you're the best player on the team(maybe in the division).

September 22, 2008  08:23 AM ET

Hopefully, he will come back soon - great player.

September 22, 2008  08:24 AM ET

If he does need a week off, next week isn't a bad one. I know the bears are good on D, but their O is just like the Steelers: Run, Run, Pass, then three more runs. Only problem is I don't think the bears are as good as running.

September 22, 2008  08:34 AM ET

They said last night on ESPN ... like they're an authority ... that he'd back inside of a week ...

September 22, 2008  08:44 AM ET

I hope that he gets better soon...

Another clueless Cowboys fan. Are you sure the Cowboys "hung 41" on the Eagles defense? Might want to catch the game again on NFL Replay.

Romo had over 300 yards and 3TDs. Barber had a good game. Witten had over 100 yards Rec. The offense had almost 400 yards. So yes, you can say they hung 41 points.

come on man...the cowboys beat the eagles straight up...you have to accept that...Dallas looks good...not great ..but really good....its really hard to look great in that division right now...the steelers o-line looked terrible...without faneca they are very average...
