USC's Wright to play despite felony
USC Coach Pete Carroll is disciplining cornerback Shareece Wright for his role in an incident that led to his being charged with felony resisting a police officer, but the junior will play against Oregon State if cleared medically to do so, Carroll said Sunday. Carroll declined to specify the nature of the disciplinary action.

What a stupid headline. He was >charged< with a felony. Which is sorta kinda different then being >convicted<. Let him have his day in court. Who knows, maybe the cop was the jerk.

But you don't understand that getting charged is like becoming a man when playing for USC. In fact, he was disciplined not for getting charged but because the crime he committed was for sissies. Carroll expects more from his players like rape, aggravated assault, or attempted murder. That's the USC way!

What do you expect? Carroll and USC are held to different standards than anyone else. Ryan Perrilloux was never arrested, but USC fans were screaming for his head. Where are those fans now that one of their own is facing a FELONY!

Felony resisting a police officer... what a joke! LA cops are punks looking for their 15 minutes of fame.
And that judge... told Wright he would "slap you in jail so fast it'll make your head spin" if he failed to appear for the next hearing.
I wonder if that kid was um... white? Yes I said it. Case would be dismissed. Bet!

Nice, inject racism in everything. Is it also my fault that you are in a dead end job?

Normally players are suspended pending the outcome of the charges. However, I do believe innocent until proven guilty. This does seem like an overzealous charge anyway.

He won't get charged, if you read up on this, he didnt do anything wrong. He had been drinking and had a suspended license, so he told the police he wouldn't drive. On top of that, the mother and owner of the house said Shareece could stay. He won't get charged.

Don't be so self-absorbed. USC fans were not screaming for Perilloux' head. We don't care, we have other things going on in CA, other than football. Get a life.

Who cares this happens all the time in college football. If it wasn't a star player, he would have been suspended and maybe even kicked off the team. Ryan Perrilloux was in a sh*tload of trouble before they finally kicked him off.

Here a guy is charged with a felony and he is still playing, meanwhile two ND players get busted drinking and everyone wants them kicked off the team! Yeatmen may well get tossed because he violated probation (and he deserves it) but there is a difference in standards!

It shows the difference in philosophy. USC allows people to play with felony charges. Wisconsin allows them to play after being arrested for DUI. PSU has two players who were caught with less than an ounce of grass and they haven't played in two games and may not ever play again. Maybe if more schools treated this stuff seriously, we wouldn't have professional athletes thinking they are gods like Mike Vick and Pacman Jones, etc, etc, etc, etc.

blah, blah, blah, double standard for USC, blah, blah, blah, USC pays it's players, blah, blah, blah, USC hasn't beat a good team this year, blah, blah, blah, USC lost to lowly Stanford, blah, blah, blah. READ the account of this incident before you jump to conclusions. AND, get new material.
