Neuheisel opens UCLA QB competition
Kevin Craft will remain UCLA's quarterback . . . for now. Craft, coming off a woeful game in which he threw for only 81 yards Saturday in a 31-10 loss to Arizona, remains the best option, Coach Rick Neuheisel said. But the depth chart probably isn't set in stone. "The competition is always open, and we'll continue to work other guys," Neuheisel said. "If we think there is another way to go that would give us a better chance to win, we'll do that. Until that time, we'll keep putting our faith in Kevin. He's a great kid and never makes excuses. We hope he will turn the corner."

Maybe UCLA can just borrow the 4th string QB at USC, just for the season at least until UCLA can find a QB.....

Maybe they should just abandon the passing game and run the ball on everydown.

The problem with that is that UCLA has no running game either. Had 38 rushing yards TOTAL in its first two games, including 9 against BYU. NINE!
I think the real issue here is that Craft is, for no better term, expendable. UCLA's offensive line is like swiss cheese and it's only a matter of time until he gets injured. Meanwhile, he's keeping Chris Forcier healthy on the bench, someone who has a future as a good UCLA quarterback.

Yeah, that didn't quit help Oregon this past weekend and they DO have a great running back tandem. You gotta be able to throw the ball or your going to run the clock down and come up short at the end when you finally start tossing the ball.

This is so beautiful. I dearly hope that "genius" Heuheisel goes 1-11.

Neuheisel, that is. Obviously, I'm no genius either.

Hey, Bronco, congrats on a great win Saturday. I'm glad we're not playing you this year.

USC 4th string is Mitch Mustain... a guy who went 8-0 as a freshman in the SEC. Ha.

Sadly the severe offensive woes jeopardize the defense by forcing them to play more minutes with their backs against the goal line. I'm hopefully they string together enough wins this year to keep Walker content. He should have been given a chance to coach full time.
