I'm not a big Selig fan, but what else could you do in this situation? The Astros just couldn't get it done those games and the Cubs were playing well. They both played nine innings with nine guys.

Blah blah blah... Sure Bud- moving ther game to Milwaulkee has NOTHING to do with you shadow ownership stakes in it still right? Like those Indians games last season too right. Not EVERY canceled game should be held in Milwaulkee through out the years. But don't worry- I don't think anyone noticed right?

That is BS. Because originally Miller Park was not available to because they had some type of charity event going on. Then all of a sudden it is available for Sunday and Monday? The MLB and Selig are all about money and I understand that. Baseball is a business and it needs to make a profit, that is why the games were moved to Miller Park instead of St. Pete, Atlanta, etc. But why can't Selig and the MLB admit that? Is it that hard? Why do they have to just lie right to our (fans) faces?

The ad ran in the Austin American-Statesman as well.

Milwaukee....no I don't see the coincidence.

It's not like the Stros were going anywhere.

This sport does everything possible to keep kicking its own ****.

When is MLB going to dump the sorriest comissh it has ever had? Selig is the biggest lame brain in major sports, he could care less about the fans or the game itself, just as look as he doesn't have to make any hard decisions. He should really take a look at the way Goodell runs the NFL.

I am a Cubs fan and even I thought that move was B.S. on Selg's part. "There was nowhere else to play" is his excuse every time he moves a game to Milwaukee. When the Indians got snowed out last season.....Move 'em to Milwaukee. There is a clear and present conflict of interest when it comes to Bud Selig and The Milwaukee Brewers/Miller Park. It is blatant and should be corrected...but who would challenge the all-powerful Bud Selig.

I've read another article floating around on the news sites that states that Houston signed off on the move to Milwaukee for the games. It also states the likelihood of Houston's owner approving the move to Milwaukee (over say Phoenix) because it would generate more revenue.

If this is true, how sad that the team's owner would sell them out for a few extra bucks. Ironically, even if they made a few extra dollars playing in Milwaukee over the weekend, they'll lose it in the long run by not making the playoffs.

Hrmm...lets see...Bud owns the Brewers...Brewers stadium made out like a bandit with cubs fans.

But "What else could Bud do?"....lots of things. I am fairly certain, though I will admit I have not researched this...but I am nigh certain that there is more than one Ballpark between Houston and Milwaukee...say one closer to Houston.

The game had to be moved to a stadium with a roof. Why? Because you can not reschedule a game, have teams make travel and lodging plans, get the field and personnel ready, and then suffer a rainout. That would have been a greater disaster with limited playing dates left!

Selig's just trying to put the best spin on it to somehow justify a total screwing of Houston. Those games could have been rescheduled later in Houston, even at the end of the season if they were needed. Instead, they're moved to a site close to Chicago, becoming a de facto Cubs home game.

Bud, Bud, Bud...

Always remember Rule #1--don't apologize if you didn't do anything wrong. Why take out a newspaper ad apologizing for screwing the Astros unless you believe you screwed the Astros? If you really didn't have any other choice, why bother answering the critics this way? Just leave it there. I don't care either way about the Astros, the Cubs or even the Brewers, but your guilty conscience shows badly here.

How about playing in Arlington....its not like the Rangers fans where there.....you could have 2 games for the price of one

The location of the games is not to blame for the Astro's getting only one hit in two games!

The Astros' owner is as much at fault as anyone. He was so insistent on playing those games in Houston, despite the Hurricane, just to get revenues. If he had relented before the weekend, before the hurricane even hit, those games could have been rescheduled at a venue much more suitable for the Astros.
