Browns coach Romeo Crennel made it clear Monday that he's considering benching Derek Anderson and starting Brady Quinn Sunday in Cincinnati. "I think we'll definitely try to get the other guy [Quinn] ready to go and we'll see how it progresses from there," Crennel said Monday in his breakdown of Sunday's 28-10 loss to the Ravens that dropped the Browns to 0-3. "We'll probably give him a few more reps in practice right now." Asked if Quinn will start in Cincinnati against the 0-3 Bengals, Crennel said, "that determination hasn't been made yet. I'm not going to sit here and say that. I've told Quinn all along that he's one play away. I know he'll do everything he can to be ready. Then when he gets called on, I think he'll go in there, he'll perform to the best of his abilities and we'll have to see how good that is."

The magic appears to be gone from Anderson. Well, now we get a chance to see what Quinn has. He should be ready, drinking all those protein shots and all...

The Bengals would be a good team for Quinn to start against. He should be able to produce against them.

I thought the Brownies were going to win the division this year? I guess DA is showing himself to be a 1 year wonder after all.

September 23, 2008  07:32 AM ET

The Browns should start Brady, DA is a one shot wonder. Brady is the QB of the future for the Browns so why not let him play now? He won't be any worse than 0-3.

I'm no Browns fan, but I'm a bit disappointed in them so far. Was really hoping this was going to be a good year for them. Now they'll get to see how throwing all that cash at Quinn is going to work out.

September 23, 2008  08:27 AM ET

When your 0-3. It sure isn't bad to try something new. Look at what the Dolphins did... even the Bengals in their loss to the Giants.

September 23, 2008  08:32 AM ET

everyone knew this was going to happen anyways..... best of luck Brady!!!!!!!!!!!!!

September 23, 2008  08:37 AM ET

loser of browns/bengals game will make some changes in the off-season. 1st team to sputter to 0-4 will have to offer up something to keep their fanbase happy.

September 23, 2008  08:59 AM ET

This is kind of stupid... They went out and spent a fortune on defensive players and they cant stop anyone. Why is this all coming back on Anderson? He is a pretty good QB, just having trouble getting going. Plus they are playing from behind all the time, and getting out of their offensive Scheme ... Tough to say for sure but I just dont think it has a whole lot to do with the QB

September 23, 2008  09:31 AM ET

He will be the face of the team, if want to get him in real game situation, and game planing. Well this is the best time for him if DA isn't up for the task you have to try Quinn.

September 23, 2008  09:47 AM ET

Derek Anderson doesn't have all of his weapons from last year, and the O-line is banged up,so it's no surprise that the Browns are struggling. The O-line is the most crucial part to the team, and if you don't have a good one,it's all over.I doubt that Brady would do any better. If Derek loses a couple more games ,then you might as well get Brady some real game snaps.

September 23, 2008  10:00 AM ET

You could see this one coming.....

September 23, 2008  10:14 AM ET

I think there are other issues here aside from Anderson... a swiss cheese offensive line, a #1 receiver with stone hands, and a tight end that lacks blocking ability and runs routes when he feels like it.

Get that guy some help on the line, and see what happens. Brady Quinn is going to look just as bad.

September 23, 2008  10:15 AM ET

defense is an issue, but the offense is sputtering too. of course, QB change is the best way to redirect blame from the coach to the players.

I was predicting that Quinn would be starting after 3 Cleveland losses. It looks like I might be off by a game or two.

What about all that cash they threw at DA? I knew he was a flash in the pan!

Everybody laughed at me when I picked up this kid in my fantasy football team. We'll see who's laughing when he starts tearing up the turf in Cleveland. This kid deserves a chance, you gotta start somewhere.

To qualify for a passer rating in the NFL, a QB must attempt at least 14 passes. Brady Quinn has no rating for 2007 or 2008. However, the Browns have absolutely nothing to lose by starting Brady Quinn.

IT'S ONLY WEEK 4!! I'd start to talk about change halfway through the season.

So ... when's the coin flip? Man teams sour on QBs so fast these days.
