Crede won't return to White Sox
It was five days later than expected, but the White Sox finally received the news they had been waiting for on third baseman Joe Crede. It was not good. The prognosis is for Crede to continue his rehabilitation program. Crede had season-ending back surgery last June and missed most of the 2007 season. He came into the season a question mark but answered those concerns with a strong showing in spring training. Considering Crede will be a free agent, he likely has played his last game on the South Side.

Uribe has proven he can play the position this year unlike Crede.

All Uribe has proven to me he knows how to do is put a cap in one of his amigo's arses in his native land. True he did help the Sox immensely in 05' in the postseason, but this guy's anything but consistant.

Way to talk about an unrelated story Chasin' Utleys. He has played well as of late, which is all that matters at the moment. If you have a problem with his off-field activities, that's your problem.

Hey all I'm sayin' is the guy's inconsistant; the shooting reference, well that was my attempt at levity. Hailing from Philly I can make any shooting reference I want, it's in the city charter. Finally, what happens off the field is as important as what happens on the field to me. I want neither cheaters ('roids) nor social miscreants but I'll send 'em your way if you'd like, since it doesn't bother you. BTW I AM a Sox backer (not anti-Cub, just Cub apathetic), so I'm not ripping on the team..............

No worries friend. Every team deserves to be criticized considering players' salaries. I would prefer a third baseman with Uribe's arm, Crede's fielding, and Fields' bat. I'm personally tired of Crede, but for some reason White Sox fans have a love affair with the guy.

Too bad he's in his free-agent year. His agent, Scott Boras, is going to really have to cook up some hearty B.S. to get Crede a big multi-year contract next season. Maybe he can have him pull a VW with a rope to show how strong his back is.

I have a friend who's son-in-law is a part owner of the White Sox. He says if you look cross-eyed at Uribe he'll stick a knife in your back.

Crede's been a good man for the Sox, ya gotta admit that much.

Crede will be missed. when he was healthy he was the best 3rd baseman the Sox had since Ventura, maybe better than Ventura.

getting rid of crede will be a big mistake...he was an important cog in ur world series run...why would you just let him go???
ok so back surgery is a really big deal but come on you dont just throw away a player because he's injured...
he has determination enough to come back and excel at the position....

What are you crazy Crede is clutch, they never win that World series without Crede offensivley @ defensively he was awesome, but I agree its probably time to give up on him cause of back, but a healthy Crede is a top 3rd baseman in baseball without a doubt, he was just putting it together in 06 when he was hitting over .300 with 90 rbi and 28 hrs, then in august his back started and has never been the same, plus guys are we giving up on Fields, he has been playing hurt all year with a bum knee, as far as Uribe goes forget him he still has not learned how to lay of the high fastball @ the slider away its a joke watching him it will be 2nd @ 3rd no outs and pitchers will throw him 3 sliders off the plate and he will swing at all 3 and fail to move runners or even hit sac fly
