The Sprint Cup Series is about to find out how much Kyle Busch has matured in two years. Because for the second time in three editions of the Chase for the Sprint Cup, after two of 10 races, Busch finds himself in last position; and the sight is brutal. "We're out of the title hunt," Busch said. "That's for sure. So we'll just manage what we can."

Quitter!

September 23, 2008  07:57 AM ET

Loser!!!

September 23, 2008  07:59 AM ET

This just again shows PeeWee is so inmature!! Hopefully this will make him more humble and he won't be such a spoiled jerk next year!!! The kid can drive though!!!!

September 23, 2008  08:40 AM ET

Thank you Lil' Shrubby for making the sting of the 88's slow start in the Chase that much milder. Never have I took such joy in someone else's misfortune

Funny he has given up but Jr still thinks he can win. Interesting contrast in personalities. Please take JJ out shrub and make yourself useful again.

September 23, 2008  09:10 AM ET

Gibbs better get a "Stand By Driver", ready for when kyle takes a walk when Bad goes to Worse because JR won't be available this time!

Many take some pleasure in seeing the demise of Kyle Busch and for good reason. It is not now nor has ever been an issue about whether Busch can drive or not. It is now and has always been about his attitude, immaturity and apparent youthfull exuberance even in victory, both on and off the track. But the true test shows through when adversity hits and how he handles it. Perhaps one of these days his ability to drive and his ability to be much more humble in victory as well as defeat, will be balanced and make him a champion. Until then, many will continue to consider him simply as chump and more often a lucky immature driver.

September 23, 2008  09:23 AM ET

he can keep pulling up the near then, and make room for Jimmie to win his 3rd cup

September 23, 2008  09:25 AM ET

Amazing what happens when your luck runs out -- did you see the towel in the 18 car he threw in? The Bush Baby is showing his true colors by tellin' his owner, crew, fans that he has quit! What ever happen to the term "it ain't over til' the fat chick sings"??? Maybe Bush should take some pointers from Jr -- you have to keep tryin'. Coach Gibbs needs to set this BOY down and talk to him like a MAN!!

Where is our buddy Shave the Busch today?????

Well said Shyn. I used to joke how my grandmother would say, 'you have to learn to win AND lose well'. She was right, though. It looks like Kyle has trouble with both right now. He is obnoxious when he wins and pouty when he loses. He'll learn as he gets older, but I doubt if there is much sympathy for him anywhere.

Difference Between a Wiener and a Winner! LOL

In defense of busch - I'am far from being a fan - BUT = when he was winning
the Press was ALL OVER him, about how Good he was,,then when he looses
2 races you all jump on the Hate Bus - I think that has a lot of impact on a
driver - even Kyle. Say what ya want,,the kid can drive a car with the best
there is out there.++ Just the way I feel folks.

This week, Addington may do some kicking around his driver's backside -- affectionately, of course. To his credit, Busch spent more than 15 minutes inside his trailer before he came out and satisfied every media outlet that needed him.

But his expression and his words plainly said he was far from satisfied himself.

"We're out of the title hunt," Busch said. "That's for sure. So we'll just manage what we can."

???
Sorry; but this is not quitting. he says that the title is out of reach but he is going to go for what he can get. Sometimes you have to read the whole story and not just the first few lines posted here.

Kenseth was 177 points out before dover and he came in second and now he is only 167 points out. He has no shot and he knows it and the fans know he is full of sh** when he says he is still in it. Kyle has a better shot at teaching Dale Jr how to........... Oh never mind.
My point is he is done and spoke his mind but to qoute Rick Hendrick "son you should choose your words Wisely". Kyle is not wise. You know why. BECAUSE HE IS TWENTY THREE!!!!
Every one of you was the same at that age if you say you werent you are lying to yourself.
Your all mad because because being that young he is a multimillionar who in ten years is not even going to remember that we had an economical crisis because it did not affect him in any way. I know you all want him to walk around and be humble and appreciative of the fact that he is living his dream the way we all wish we could.
I for one knows he will, because we all grow up.
All of us that is except for................... Oh never mind.

September 23, 2008  10:31 AM ET

I am soooooooooooo glad that so many other NASCAR fans think the same of PeeWee that I do!!!

September 23, 2008  10:43 AM ET

Funny Sly...........All aboard the Hate Bus........
I am on the road again...........
Going to the Road House, going to have a real good time
oops, sorry

September 23, 2008  10:50 AM ET

"We're out of the title hunt," Busch said. "That's for sure. So we'll just manage what we can."

With 8 races to go, Is Kyle mathematically out of contention?, I don't know the answer to that.
And, Yes Kyle has been a Great driver this year, I'll give him that, and I understand his age is a factor in how he acts as well.
Maybe "Quitter" is too harsh a word, I will go with UN-likable for the time being, but Hater?, I think not.
This is no different then taking shots at JR, I thought we were all grown ups in here, well most all.
Taking shots at other drivers from most of us is meant in jest, Haters carry this to another level and I don't consider myself that far up the ladder.

I hope no one takes offense with my words, It is never personal.
I hope I have made thoughts clear.
